I hope this movie isn’t all serious like the first one was. They seem to cut out all the beautiful, joyous moments, like Aslan making a boy’s grandma well, or letting the teacher go from the class of boys that later turn into pigs. At least in the book, people change into what they really are as they react to Aslan coming along.

it’s amusing that people are ‘offended’ by an allegorical aspect in this film, moreso becuase they’ve been told it’s there…

everyone from neo and superman to john connor has a biblical element thrown into their mythos, no one’s trying to convert you but the narrative tics have been around for a couple thousand years, lewis just happens to have believed

people hate narnia? it’s not as repeatable as any of the LotR movies, but once I start Narnia i have trouble turning away.

As far as Christian undertones, duh. The movie would just be a visual feast without it. Azlan looked awesome, but without the whole sacrificial Lamb aspect, there’s not much of an impact.

C.S. Lewis was a Christian apologist. The religious undertones were pretty much inevitable. I’m sorry if you do not like them, but they are there and an integral part of the series. Rest assured that Prince Caspian doesn’t have any of the blatant Christian themes as the first. There are a few things here and there, but not a whole lot.

I, personally, like the undertones. It is one of the things that attracted me to the series in the first place. All writers reveal their life-philosophy in their work and C.S. Lewis is no exception. JRR Tolkien was more subtle, but there are plenty of Christian themes in the Lord of the Rings as well.

Their depiction of the duel scene reminded me of Gladiator. . . similar camera work and of course the silver mask.

I love the concept of the movies, the cgi, the feel, everything but the child actors playing the parts. None of them have any soul. They are so one dimensional it detracts from the entire experience.

Looks great. I loved the first one, and I was a fan of both Narnia and LOTR as a kid. I felt the movie adaptation was just what it should’ve been, specifically a bit more kid friendly and lighter in tone than LOTR, just as the book was.

If you were offed by the religious undertones of the Chronicles of Narnia then you have no idea who C.S. Lewis is and the books he has written. He is very big into christianity and the story behind it. All of his books have the same underlining tone.

I found the first movie to be a good representation of the book and this second movie could be just as good. There was a lack of action in the first film but it was just enough for me. Unlike Lord of the Rings this movie series will not be for everyone. I think some of the nitpicking on the film happened because people were expecting it to be another Lord of the Rings. Which is a completely different style of writing and story. Hopefully this next film does not let down.

I’m a super huge fan of the books. To the point were my complaints weren’t a lack of action (I don’t like when movies based on books I’m a fan of create scenes just for the movie) they were things more like there should be a blue glass bottle in the window in the wardrobe room and the centaur from the Witch’s Castle should have said “And join in, I hope Sir” when Aslan says that they’re going to the battle.

so while I’m not a fan of the imagined “Castle Raid” scene, I do like the trailer in all and can’t wait to see this :}
