Adam Brody as The Flash

Last month we reported that O.C. star Adam Brody was rumored to be cast as Wally West aka The Flash in George Miller’s Justice League of America movie. Today the Los Angeles Times, who actually mentions/references SlashFilm.com, has confirmed the rumors, reporting that Brody has closed negotiations for the role. However, Warner Bros is still keeping mum. Apparently the studio wants to hold off on any announcements until all the roles are cast.

Justice League supposedly begins with the funeral of Barry Allen, the second Flash (1956-1986). His nephew (by marriage) Wally West was exposed to electrically charged chemicals at ten years old when he was visiting his uncle’s police laboratory. West donned a copy of his uncle’s outfit and became the young crime fighter named Kid Flash. After Barry Allen was killed, Wally took over as the fastest man alive. The Flash possesses “super-speed,” and superhuman reflexes which allow him to violate certain laws of physics. Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus helmer David Dobkin is signed on to direct a Flash feature film following production of Justice League.

Wow. The biggest name in this movie is “That kid from the OC.” Trainwreck here we come.

This movie hasn’t even started filiming yet but it’s already on a patch to complete self destruction. This movie had the potential to become possibly the highest grossing film of all time or at least the higest grossing comic book film of all time. But here we are again with a great idea which is slowly being butchered irreversibly.

Did you guys read the rumor over at Joblo or IESB that Woody Harrelson is up for the role of Barry Allen, the first flash in JLA. Apparenly both Wally and Barry are in it.

The article in the LA papers syas that the information in the article has not been confirmed, and the script syas that the Flash i the moie is Barry Allen, that was verified months ago. The funeral is not the actuall begining, but the end happening first and the rest is flasback to how the funeral came to be happening. Why are there so many people sating its Wally when the script says Barry. And warner Brothers is not confirmomng ant of this invented gossip, which at this point is all it is. Report the facts and quit inventing them.

great… he’s too awkward to play the flash. Flash is quick witted and humorous in a good way. Not awkward nerd funny… In all his stuff I’ve never seen this kid act any other way than like in Mr and Mrs Smith or the OC.

check out In The Land Of Women if you have not. Adam Brody stars in that movie and is incredible. Brody is very quick witted and sarcastic funny and I think he will play the roll well and you will find yoruself laughing

In The Land Of Women was one of the absolute worst movies of the year. Brody’s performance was dog sh*t in it.

So,which Flash is he playing? I really want to see Barry in this film, but I’m not sure he’s old enough, and if he is Barry, then how old is Wally? But,anyway, seems like a decent choice,I think his smile is the same as the alex ross flash pic next him,so who knows? I hope for the best and fear for the worst. They’d better keep ALL the team’s costumes looking like the comix costumes, the JLA don’t deserve to be shitted up like X-Men.

The Woody Harrelson rumor is false, but it is true both Barry and Wally are in it as Flash and Kid Flash. The Barry Allen Flash is Flash for the greater part of the film and Wally/Kid Flash becomes Flash at the end according to what I’ve heard.

This cast is so stupid. Watching this piece of garbage flame out has been depressing as hell. If the script isn’t complete crap, why have all the better actors passed on this project? It should be the biggest film of the year, but they can’t get anybody decent to star in it. You know that script has to be complete dog meat, for nobody to want to star in that thing.

It’s how it seems like this film may kick off some new movie franchises for DC, but a shame that it won’t be tied into the continuity of Superman Returns/Batman Begins

Look, even tho I’m skeptical when it comes to this cast, give ‘em a break I say! Were Chris Reeves and Hugh Jackman “A list” actors or familiar faces when they were cast as their respective characters?! No!! Remember how horrible the idea seemed of Michael Keaton playing Batman was when it was announced? And remember how good “Batman” turned out to be? It’s still the greatest batfilm ever made along with Batman Begins,IMO. So yes, while the WB screws us over sometimes (remember Catwoman, the batnipples and Superman’s bastard child in Superman Returns?),they sometimes have a tendency to surprize us with excellent casts, scripts and films,so lighten up! Wait a little more and see what the WB is up to before you all start with the hate!

KEL - Considering the topic, it’s funny you used the term The WB in that last sentence instead of just Warner Bros.

“Today the Los Angeles Times, who actually mentions/references SlashFilm.com”

The LA Times is not a person, it’s an entity, so “who” can’t be used. It should be “which”. Get yourself an editor, please.

well i intern for warner brothers who is backing this film up, and i sat in on a meeting for this film and learned alot. though im not into the superhero thing, i decided to browse the web and see what the word is. and this is all wrong. Adam Brody is THE FLASH. And Common is also being considerd and they have auditioned Armie Hammer ,Zoe Kazan, and scott porter is actually being looked at for super boy.Not superman himself. Donta Storey is also being considered for the role of Teen Titan Cyborg. Currently they ahve 2 different scripts for the film and George Miller has signed on to direct. Email me if you want and or need more information!!!!! ill be glad to share with you!!!
