Earlier today I penned an article finally declaring Juno the best movie of the year, defeating Paul Thomas Anderson’s There will Be Blood in a near even fight. As much as I love the movie, I have been less than happy with the film’s marketing thus far. Just look at the poster for a good example of what I’m talking about. It’s not bad, but it just isn’t great either. Fox should have teamed with the company that created the rotoscoped colorpencil-animated opening title sequence.
And while the first movie trailer for Juno got the look, feel and music right, I felt that they didn’t do justice in the area of comedy. Thankfully, Fox Searchlight has released a new international trailer which is quite the polar opposite. It gets the music and look entirely wrong (what’s with the cheesy superimposed text asides? And how could they exclude The Moldy Peaches song?), but it instead nails home the sharp witty pop-culture infused dialogue from Diablo Cody’s script. Check out the new trailer after the jump.

I REALLY loved this movie and if you look at some of my past comments on this site, you’ll see I have had no qualms about attacking Peter when I disagree with something he writes.
So take my review as another opinion that this is really a seminal film.
Pun not intended.

I saw this movie on Tuesday and I am still thinking about it. It’s really precious and I loved it. Though, I would have to say The Hunting Party was my favorite movie of the year. Too bad it completely died in theaters.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
It’s like fingernails on a chalkboard! I am even more underwhelmed now. This looks incredibly unoriginal and extraordinarily lame.

Well, I had been eagerly anticipating this movie from the first trailer and all the buzz but man if this new trailer didn’t just kill it for me. The dialog was horrible. Snoop Dogg speak with the two girls? It’s bad enough when adults talk like that in movies. It comes off as pathetic and makes the characters seem out of touch. It doesn’t make the script seem fresh or edgy it makes it seem like an out of touch 40 year old male wrote it(and yes, I know Diablo Cody isn’t a 40 year old male). I hope I am wrong.

Anyone else having trouble playing the video? It’s stopping about halfway through and taking you back the beginning. Help!

i saw the movie. loved it. thought the trailer with kimya dawson and david bowie was one of the best trailers i have ever seen.
but this was one of the worst trailers ever. does not do justice to the movie at all and has too many little spoilers in it.
wow this trailer sucked. and wow, the original trailer is so much better

Screened this yesterday. As far as independent fare goes (hey there, Little Miss Sunshine), it’s funny and playful.
Regarding the actual story, it’s a fairy tale (That the opening credits are animated is a big tip-off).
Great to see Rainn Wilson on the big screen.

I haven’t seen the movie yet but I must say I am overly excited to see it. However I also think like brendan said that it gives away too many little jokes. I had a feeling it does. However it just makes me more & more anxious to see the film!
