IMAX has released a new featurette for their upcoming presentation of the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. As you know, Christopher Nolan shot four sequences for The Dark Knight with extremely high resolution IMAX cameras using the giant 15/70 film format. When the scenes shot on IMAX cameras are shown in IMAX theatres, the aspect ratio will morph to 1.43 to 1, expanding the image to fill the entire IMAX screen. The new feature shows some behind the scenes footage of Nolan and the crew shooting with the IMAX rig, intercut with interview asides. It’s worth watching and features relatively no spoilers.
Rumor has it that a seven minute prequel to The Dark Knight will be shown in front of Warner Bros’ IMAX presentation of I Am Legend. And more recently, an anonymous scooper told Batman On Film that the Dark Knight prequel sequence will be shown in 3D. Somehow I doubt this, although I wish this was the case. Who wouldn’t want to see Batman kick ass in 3D?
Check out the featurette after the jump.
The Dark Knight hits traditional and IMAX theaters on July 18th 2008.

Just got Batman Begins again on HD DVD (amazing) and this TDK feature just ratchets up my excitement for Nolan’s second Batman EVEN MORE. (I’m not even a big comics or Batman or superhero fan?!) Eventually the hype and expectations will get so high there’s only room for disappointment, but right now I couldn’t care less: this sequel is looking Godly, easily my most anticipated since T2. Can’t wait for an HD release in late 2008!

There is no way that the opening sequence will be shown in 3D. I work as an IMAX projectionist and it would be the biggest waste. Since I Am Legend is not in 3d, there is no reason why they would make the opening scene 3d. it would cost way to much and take too much time to get the show ready for a 7 minute clip.

Recently, quite a few celebrities were said to appear on the millionaire luxury club http://www.meetrich.com. OMG!!! Are these famous guys fond of internet dating for now?? Maybe they are indeed so rich that they feel boring sometimes to need new things?
