Responding to Daniel, Tim Burton's style is dark. Nobody is trying to make a darker version of everything, it just so happens he likes to remake films in his own style. It's his style, so don't complain just because you don't like it. There are WAY more normal movies than dark movies, and the darker movies have higher ratings due to the mature content.

You cannot blame the troubled youth of today on the media, or Tim Burton.

why does everything have to be "darker" like that makes it cool or some how more relivant. Look just becuase your mind is warped does not mean everyone eles needs everything under the sun brought down into it like it's some kind of new revelation. No. Not that alice and wonderland does not have its trip but im just getting sick of everytime some one makes a movie it always has to be a "darker" version like that means somthing.
I mean poor kis today all they get is darkness no wonder why all of them were black and skulls and look like they do Why does no one make a story the other direction? becuase they cant and dont know how.
