Seriously? Are we really hanging our hopes on this? The first was simply terrible: terrible effects, boring story, bad acting, the unhotness that is Jennifer Connelly, etc, etc. Worst of all they made him completely impervious to any type of conventional weapon…if I remember right didn’t he get hit with a missile?!
Why should this be better?
Jackassedry!

Well…considering that it stars Edward Norton as Hulk for one…Edward Norton also WROTE the screenplay for it. Also, Tim Roth is a brilliant actor. So I think there is a good amount to look forward to.

I dont agree about teh special effects in the first movie, they were spectacular. The scene where he was taking on those helicopters and when he fell off the cliff was great. The hulk himself looked kinda cheesy, and the storyline was horrible, but they did do a good job of the effects.

What you are seeing here is a painting, not a photo. Anyone could spot that. Oh and the first Hulk was a fun movie with great special effects by ILM. To claim the effects sucked is to acknowledge you lack analytical skills.

You are wrong on each point, but offensive with the last one. Jennifer Connelly is shockingly hot, you castrado

No, to say the effects suck is to say that they were unconvincing. The movie was about the Hulk, so if the Hulk didn’t look like he was really there, it’s reasonable to say the effects sucked no matter how much time, effort and technology may have gone into it.

The problem with the old Hulk was the CGI. Why don’t they hire an ACTOR to play the Hulk?
November 18th, 2007 at 12:40 am
i think it had good enough gfx work but if i might add if it were more like spider man 3’s effects i think they would be a big wow. other wise im thinking this will be a good one, i mean they obviously knew they could do better

Eric Bana was good for the role in the first one. I liked it, but it was missing something. The chick was he only thing I didn’t really like.
Sometimes the CGI was a bit obvious and crappy. Edward Norton as the hulk? Why not Steve Urkel or Piwi Herman? He’s not exactly buff or manly. He’s a weasel. Eric was cool. He’s always cool.

Definitely the first Hulk was not what we all expected… poor storyline and CGI abuse… I really hope they learnt the lesson and that the new Hulk exceeds all expetations… we’ll just have to wait and see…

The original ‘Hulk’ was surprisingly spectacular. I went in with an almost resentful attitude; a movie about a not-so-jolly green giant never really appealed to me. But Ang Lee managed to make a genuinely sensitive and affecting piece of cinema, and arguably the best comic book adaptation to date.
With the director of ‘Transporter 2′ now attached to ‘The Incredible Hulk’, I have serious reservations about how this could turn out. No doubt it’ll please the kids and the geeks, but for those looking substantial cinema I think they could end up being a little disappointed.
But we’ll see how it goes.
-PS-
Why do people complain about the CG Hulk? If you can put up with that irritating CG Gollum, and if you can accept a CG Yoda, what the hoo-har is wrong with that CG Hulk. I actually felt for the character, which was amazing. And I never liked that character.

The reason they can’t just “hire an actor” is because the Hulk is between 7-8 feet tall and it is physically impossible to have a realistic “costume” to convey his enormous size. Lou was unconvincing to me in the series, he actally was shot with a handgun! The Hulk’s skin is virtually impeneterable!

TO JOHN GOUTIER: THEY CAN HIRE AN ACTOR TO PLAY THE AND JUST PAINT HIM GREEN AND DIGITALY MAKE HIM TALLER
JUST HIRE A PRO BODYBUILDER LIKE MARKUS RUHL OR JAY CUTLER
March 14th, 2008 at 7:08 am
It is not just the height that I’m talking about. The Hulk is simply enormous. Even his arms are unusually long relative to the rest of his body. There is no actor that could realistically portray the Hulk unless he was truly a mutant of some kind. I have read the Hulk for over 35 years, and to convey him acurately on the screen would certainly take CGI. Pro body builders are skinny weaklings compared to the Hulk’s massive physique. To suggest a body builder painted green and just “make him taller” is to not truly understand the character.
The first Hulk movie was a great start, there is just some tweaking that should take place. I tend to be very critical on how a Hulk potrayal should be done. I wish that I could have input on all of these comic book movies. They would turn out much better if I did.
Juggernaut was another mistake. Don’t get me statred on that one. I enjoyed that movie and will eventually buy it, but the Juggernaut was poorly done. He is another character that cannot accurately be done without CGI. Just too massive of a physique.
I am pleasantly suprised with the way that Iron Man is looking. I think that will be one of Marvel’s greatest potrayals.

Wow the new gulk is comming out i can’t wait looks even better than the first one! it’s going to take Cgi to make an accurate hulk for sure because he isn’t really human he stands 7-8 feet tall and weighs around a thousand pounds but no way could i full agree with what was said about todays pro bodybuilders you see i have been a bodybuilder myself for nearly 30 years now and have met a great many probodybuilders in my life time
and was at two Mr Olympia contests the last one was last year where jay cutler won for the second time
and let me tell you after having met him in person 4 different times i seriously doubt anyone could make this guy look small now granted the HULK of course is three times the size of jay but the certainly could have based all the CGI models off of jays physique in fact they could have done the same with any number of pro bodybuilders now in the first one they use lee priest
another great pro bodybuilder however lee stands about 5,5 and weighs a ripped 215-220lbs many pros today are much bigger than that averaging around 5,10
and weighing in anywhere from 250- 320lbs with body fat
down below 4% so many of them myself included could have been used as the basic blueprint for the hulk lets be honest here where do you think stan lee got the inspiration for the hulks physique? was it from the average joe walking down the street ? or was it possibly someone who looked more like arnold ? or jay who is btw
much bigger and better physiquewise than arnold ever was.

to lucky and john goutier ! ok has anyone ever seen lxg the leage of extraordinary gentlemen with mr,hyde they had an actor play dr jeckle the skinny scientist and mr hyde with a very realistic muscle suit and digitaly enhanced him into the movie to look like he was 9 feet tall 1000 pounds and awesome! it was guienius and for the scenes phyicaly impossible to do like super fast speed, leaping and super fighting they digitaly scanned the actor as mr hyde and made him do the thing that were needed very good movie
