Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri

Seth Rogen (Knocked Up) and Elizabeth Banks (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) have been cast as Zack and Miri in Kevin Smith’s upcoming comedy Zack & Miri Make a Porno. The movie is about two platonic friends who decide to make a porno movie to solve their finacial problems, and in the process, they discover they have feelings for each other.

“It’s very much a love story,” Smith says. “Zack and Miri just want to make a good old-fashioned dirty movie.”

Rogen not only has the perfect delivery for Smith’s brand of humerous dialogue, but he is also very hot in Hollywood right now (didn’t you hear?). With a golden title and Rogen now attached, Zack and Miri is sure to draw in a much bigger audience than Smith’s loyal fanbase. Zack & Miri Make a Porno begins production in January 2008.

Awesome!! I just hope Kevin sticks to his guns and doesn’t let Seth Rogan improvise….

Great casting. Something about this movie seems really fitting for the times we live in. I think we are in the midst of a new revolution of sex comedies that perfectly reflect our current mindset of anxiety far more than any war film released thus far. And I agree that the box office for this should be stellar with Rogen attached.

New title: How about “Zach and Miri Make an Internet Ad Featuring a Girl on Trampoline Being Hit By Waterballoon”…

Seth Rogen?!? Come on, this generations Ben Stiller . . . this flick will do business based on Seth Rogen’s Face Value right now, not because it’s actually any good.
