Earlier today we posted a batch of new photos from the Al Pacino/Robert De Niro collaboration Righteous Kill. The guys at cinemanotize sent over a promotional trailer for the film. Check it out below.
footage removed at request of the studio
Al Pacino and Robert De Niro (in their first team-up since Heat) play two Veteran New York City Detectives on the hunt for a vigilante who may be one of their own. Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Dennehy, Carla Gugino, 50 Cent and John Leguizamo also star. Righteous Kill will hit theaters in 2008.

that’s a horribly unexciting and bland trailer for what would suggest itself, at first glance, to be a film that would be easily described otherwise.
let’s hope that this is more of a teaser, that something more substantial is on the way.

The trailer suck till the end, that’s when we got classic Deniro. I don’t think the movies going to suck, but if they put a terrible trailer together and send it out, people are going to jump to conclusions early and say this is “Staight to DVD” Material.

Seriously, this trailer is just plain BAD. It almost seems somewhat fan-made during a majority of the run time. Personally, many of the high-speed zoom-ins look extremely unprofessional, and the sound quality is definitely lacking: “Order… order in my court.” is a huge example of this. Something doesn’t seem right about this trailer, not one bit.

Totally direct to DVD vibe from the pos trailer…..ugh.

This movie is still in production according to the trailer. Also, there were shots in there taken from a video camera while on set. I don’t think this is an official trailer release.

This was by no means the official trailer for this movie.

Yes, this cannot be the official trailer but lets all agree, that this WILL be another great one….mut! - you blankin’ mut! Im not sure about 50 Cent being with the likes of Dinero, Pacino, Dennihy etc… it should take more that gazillions of dollars to land such an opportunity. There are way too many great actors who could fill this role. 50 seems like a nice guy and all but hey, so am I.

This is NOT a trailer. This is a PROMOTIONAL REEL used by a sales company to sell the film to foreign distributors.

Well, that would make a certain amount of sense. Still though, it’s disappointing.

I agree with Tony!
The same Einstein who thought an official trailer would have the F-bomb was probably no smarter than the Einstein who cast 50…you flippin MUT!

The song throughout is “Heresy” by Nine Inch Nails, off the album “The Downward Spiral”

im looking forward to an actual official trailer for this, since as everyone has noticed that this obviously isn’t it. but i guess with deniro and pacino together again, thats all you really need to know for now.
November 10th, 2007 at 4:39 pm
This is obviously not the real trailer, im more stoked to see that!
November 11th, 2007 at 10:55 am
Seriously - this is a sales reel, not a trailer. There’s no red-band or anything. Like the mutt quote, though. “Watch your back!”
November 12th, 2007 at 9:55 pm
Yeah, 50 Cent makes no sense in this one with the legends…why not just cast Ron Jeremy while your at it? Then it could be a first attempt at a comedy reality movie! You mmuuuuttt!

I’m looking forward to this film I believe that it will be this summers blockbuster. I think it’s really funny that people hate what they don’t understand and that is directed to everyone that is bashing 50 cent. Why is that you do that? Is it because he is a raper? Jealousy? Or simply because of stupidity? Get off the hate wagon and stop bringing the man down because you wish you were in his position. Learn to respect, you fools!

50 is my hero i wanna see that movie!!

It is because of what he stands for.
People bash 50 Cent because of his immoral and dumb messages in his productions. He glorifies violence, glorifies drug use and stand for a very wrong image of women. All his actions have only one goal: to get rich or die trying.
Not someone worth of my respect.
