Empire has the some new photos from Jon Avnet’s Righteous Kill, which stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro (in their first team-up since Heat) as two Veteran New York City Detectives hunt a vigilante who may be one of their own. Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Dennehy, Carla Gugino, 50 Cent and John Leguizamo also star. It was originally rumored that directing legend Martin Scorsese would be in the film, but that is actually untrue (Dennehy plays the role that Scorsese likely would have played). If the photo above looks familuar, it might be that a simular image was seen in Heat (seen below).
The photo to the right was published in Time Magazine. Righteous Kill will hit theaters in 2008.

As great as I’m sure these two actors are together, I think casting them as partners is a terrible idea, given how well it worked when they were on opposite sides in Heat.

I hope this movie is good.. occasionally a weak script can get strong actors to compensate.

It’s official..according to Side Dish “New York Post” January 10, 2008. The unlikely couple award of 2008 has already been issued to Robert DeNiro & 50 Cent who just shot the cover of Vibe’s Hollywood issue three days ago at Milk Studios.
This is really exciting to news to have such a versatile cast in the upcoming movie. I believe 50 Cent’s character will add a larger persona than the previous DeNiro/Pacino movie “HEAT” 1995 which featured another rapper Tone Loc.

Al Pacino & Robert De Niro are 2 of the best actors we have. I definitely am going 2 c this movie. Although i agree they kinda look out of place in the pics.
