Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told me today during the Southland Tales Junket that he was offered a role in the Scorpion King sequel, The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian.
“They came to me and asked for a cameo but I passed on it.”
The Rock also confirmed that he will not be featured in Rob Cohen’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

Looks like the Rock is getting smarter about his film choices–a little bit, anyway.

The Rock is the only person good enough for the role of the scorpion king and if someone else plays the scorpion king then it will only make the movie look bad.

everybody has a different tast in movies i for one like both mummies and the the scorpion king and i gotta say if the rock doesn’t do the prequel to scorpion king or sequel then the movie isn’t worth watching and that the one i hate the most about sequels and prequel is when they dan’t have the same actor or actress playing the role

What the hell, Rock? Not even a cameo?
Dude, what is with these actors and not wanting to be any part of a sequal to their good movies these days?

Why would anyone want to do a movie that will go straight to DVD and look like a rip-off version of the original?!!!
The movie done by the rock was a classic and should not be tampered with unless you get the original cast back and have a good budget for the movie with a good script in place.
I have to agree with thomas who would want to watch the sequel without the rock or kelly hu?
