Jorge is actually on the right track. In the future all the humans evolve into these couch potatoe blogs, except for the Captain played by Garlin. I’m assuming that he is probably big and fat but still functional, unlike the rest of humanity. And Willard is a video tape of what humans use to look like. Again, this is just a guess.

This doesn’t make alot of sense. If Jeff Garlin’s human character is animated, how would it make sense if Willard was shot in live action?
