Teresa Palmer as Wonder Woman

The big news today is the supposed casting of Wonder Woman in the big screen Justice League movie. Moviehole claims that Teresa Palmer may have scored the role. Yes, she’s blonde, but hair can always be dyed. They wouldn’t make Wonder Woman blonde would they? A couple weeks ago we mentioned that Palmer was part of a group of actresses who had auditioned for George Miller during the marathon casting sessions in Hollywood.

Age 21 years of age, Palmer is the youngest of the bunch of Wonder Woman hopefuls. Her publicity materials list her as 5′ 5¾”, which is considerably shorter Amazon character who is known for her curvaceous long legs. The modern day character is 6′3″ while the older version was much shorter (5′11″ was “amazonian” height for a woman in the 1960’s). Palmer starred in December Boys and The Grudge 2.

Again, this casting has not been 100% confirmed by the studio. But looking over the past hopefuls for the role worries me a bit. Does Warner Bros have any idea what they are doing with this film? It’s beginning to look a lot like the JJ Abrams Star Trek casting, young actors with little to no name value.

What the hell? Seriously, google image this chick. She looks like she should be a sophomore in high school. I really, really don’t understand the need to cast babies as superheroes. I saw December Boys and NOTHING about this girl screams wonder woman to me. Are the casting directors retarded? Have they seen a picture of Wonder Woman? Have they read a comic, seen the TV show? Theres millions of other actresses in Hollywood who probably pull of Wonder Woman, yet you feel the need to cast this little girl. I give up. Seriously hollywood, you suck.

AntiPupular: I too and getting sick of these casting rumors… that said, we at least know for 100% sure that she auditioned. So there will be no denial of that tomorrow.

Peter: Thats not a jab at you or this site. Just at the whole situation involving this movie. A little sarcasm never hurt anyone. Keep making the reports, and I’ll keep reading them.

hey you guys, cool off! don’t judge Teresa on her age. she has the most wonderful perfect face, the beauty itself speaks and many teenagers today (world population: 500 million) love her, i don’t care if she’s not billed as wonder woman… but if i were the producers of this film, i would bill Teresa as wonder woman so that the film will gross, say $500 million or more. she’s a NEW STAR shining on this planet, believe me, it’s TRUE! -Genizyn (www.myspace.com/genizyn)

I’m with you Genizyn, you are absolutely right! But I will still watch Teresa’s film even if she’s the villain on that Justice League, but some of my friends says they’ll wait for the dvd release instead. We love you Teresa.

Teresa is very popular now here in Asia when Grudge 2 was released. We have been watching more of her movies since then. I only knew she starred in December Boys with Harry Potter when my brothertold me. Now the Wonder Woman role will be very exciting moments for all of us here to watch Teresa on this new adventure film. I just got an e-mail message from Jenny i Greece, regarding this website. Thank you and I hope Teresa will still get the role of Wonder Woman. Goodluck Teresa.

I’d just like to address two comments previously made here:
This one, “you feel the need to cast this little girl” and “really, really don’t understand the need to cast babies as superheroes.”
I find these over the top, a cheap, dismissive and snobbish way to simplistically belittle. Along the lines of “although I don’t actually know you, I’m going to make bold, sweeping, infantilising derisions because I think you’re to young for this.”
