peter jackson seems to be controlling and demanding, himself, which is why the lotr trilogy was so intricately detailed; why king kong was such a bloated, self-indulgent popcorn flick. if a good actor like ryan gosling wasn’t being allowed to make his own creative decisions, but then made them anyway, of course there’s going to be friction.

but why are you simply assuming that the page six take on it is the correct one? there’s two sides to the story, either of which could be completely valid; do you believe the page six article because it’s what you want to hear?

I hate to say this, but I think it’s Peter Jackson’s loss. Mark Wahlberg can’t hold Ryan Gosling’s jock. Seriously, it weighs a lot, because he’s really fat now.

Exactly! In making a film, you have to have a role. For an actor, your job is to give a great performance and trust the director. You cannot take control over someone else’s job. There’s a reason why screenwriters never write in camera angles into their screenplays. That’s what the DP and director focus on only.

This has confused me even more. Can’t imagine a director rejecting an actor’s planned weight gain so… vehemently?! And I sure as hell don’t trust the NY Post. Something’s still funky, keep us updated.
