i love how when hollywood learned what the words “rendition” and “stop loss” meant that they ran out and made examples of it, naming the movies with the exact concept, like it’s an educational film or something, like “DNA” or “Volcanoes”. “stop-loss” is when the military calls servicemembers back, forcing them into another tour. rendition is when the government sends people to countries with lesser human rights laws in order to legally torture things out of them. i get it, and knew it, and yes, it is horrible. but, these movies feel cheap. that sort of ranting aside, when the questioners at the screening asked how many people had heard of stoploss before, most people said that they hadn’t. so maybe it’s a good thing then, i don’t know, but it feels forced to me.
