I think that the Saw V and SawVI could either make or break the Saw series.
In my opinion, Saw was a masterpiece. The second Saw was just as good, if not better, giving more information about what happened between the time lapse of the 1st and 2nd movie.
I have to admit, SawIII was my least favorite because it seemed like they were just doing it on the purpose to keep Saw going, so, I had my doubts about SawIV but ait ctually ended up being a lot better than I had expected.
So, with that said, V and VI could either put together the missing peices of the puzzle or it could completely destroy the masterpiece that was already created.
Shooting back to back is really risky because what people think of Saw V is going to reflect the outlook of Saw VI. Hopefully it WILL be as good as they say it's going to be but you just never know with a continuing movie series.

I know you were talking about Saw IV (4), but during this movie, a lot of the ending sequences is actually the end of Saw III.

You may need to re-watch the movie, because I now understand what seen you're talking about.

The start of Saw IV, where Jigsaw is "cut open" is actually the END of Saw IV / beginning of Saw V. The last few scenes of Saw IV is actually Saw III (mostly), and so, the scene you're talking about, with his "throat" slices is actually BEFORE the examination happening at the start of Saw IV.

The movie goes back and forth a few times, so I understand why you were confused.

K let me clarofie I was not talking about sasw III i was talking about saw IV. Now saw 5 starts when you see "jigsaw" getting cut open. Yet at the end you see jigsaw again at the location were his thought had been slit. How could his body be there when it was already sapose to be at the coriners office. Here is what I am thinking mabie the guy in the last one just for a cover up and mabie the real jigsaw is still alive. Just a hunch. This kind of thing is medicaly possible to pull off.

@ Jeremy
Not too sure what you're looking at here; the end of Saw III he was still in the location within his "workshop", so of course he wasn't cut up yet. However, I may be looking at the wrong bit - so I'm probably wrong.

Also, Saw is known for it's "flashbacks", so it's most likely Jigsaw is casted for Saw V because of flashbacks. Though, again, I could be wrong..

OK I did not see anyone talking about this when I had read the previous posts here is something to think about. Paying close attention to all the other saw movies there is always a clue regarding Jigsaw and even when it comes to Saw IV. We start the movie with them doing a autopsy on "Jigsaw" were they cut him open and find a tape. Alright now remember his body is at the morgue. Now when we get to the end of the movie and this is not a flash back were back at the same spot Saw III ended if you pay close attention you see a body that again looks to be Jigsaw still in the same location were he had been originally and did not look as though it had been cut open. We have thought he was dead before but he and he is on the cast list again on imdb.com for Saw V so I don't think he is dead at all but that someone else was killed. If you want more to back what I am talking about let me know. I'll try to get back to everything as fast as I can.

Hi Mandy,

Good point about Hoffman knowing about Jeff daughter, I dont know why I didnt think about that.

About the mannequin with the name Paul on it...I went through the start of Saw 3 again but couldnt find what you where talking about. The only Paul I can think of is the guy who was in the cage or bardwire

"Paul, a previous coworker of John's at Standard Engineering Ltd., was one of his first victims. Paul, described as being a bore, had a good life with a wife and kids. However, in what John would believe to be more of a cry for attention than a suicide attempt, Paul slashed his own wrists and was admitted to the Angel of Mercy hospital shortly after John had learned of his cancer. After John's transformation into the serial killer known as Jigsaw, Paul was targeted for his previous actions and was placed in a large cage lined with a maze of razor wire. He had to get to the exit by finding a path through the maze, but he only had 2 hours before the door to the room he was in would close, sealing him in. The irony in the situation was that if he wanted to live, he'd have to cut himself again. Paul didn't make it to the exit, and died hanging on the wires.
Paul was seen again later in a flashback in Saw IV, in the waiting room of Jill's clinic." (Wikipedia quote)

As for Rob Zomies (Halloween) the first 27 minutes was awesome best movie Rob Zombie has done bar non but what happened after that? It was like he gave it to a bunch of college students to finish and it ended up doing just another wack horror movie. Do it again Rob but finish it yourself (I'll find a Halloween forum and stress my views elsewhere ;)

Another thing as for the people in Saw 4 that Rigg's comes in contact with....
In 1 it was Dr. Gordan and someone that was watching him that was the main plot....Someone that Jigsaw had been in contact with...
In 2, all of the people in the house were in contact with Eric, which Amanda had a issue with and she was all about vengence... Now, the prostitue in that one did have contact with Jigsaw in Saw4, but not much...
In Saw 3, it was about saving Jigsaw and he had contact with the doctor.....He did not have contact with the other...Yeah, I know it was about who Jeff had contact wtih, but if you look at it in the killers point of view, it is who THEY had contact with, not the victims..
In Saw 4, Riggs and the other cop had contact with the father and mom, the one that were held together by spikes...Plus Art had contact with everyone that was in the movie, I think...He was everyone's lawyer, Riggs, Jigsaw's ex-wife, Jigsaw himself, and others...So, he was tied into their lives as well. Plus, I think that 5 or 6 will put into the storyline something that will tie all of the killings together. Maybe that the cop knew them in Saw 4, because I am sure they had all been arrested at one point in time.

Anyway, on another note, I was watching Saw 3 and on one of the manequins close to the beginning of the movie, It had "Paul written on it's chest.....Where was there a Paul in the series....I am sure it has something to do with one of the traps. Please if anyone knows, fill me in... Thanks...

A few things that Serenity said really got me to stop what I was reading and make a comment...
First of all, the Agent that is doing Jigsaw's work was in the third Saw. We saw him for a little bit during the Chainman investing scene. If you watch it closely when Agent Kerry speaks of there having to be more than one person, he looks startled. Maybe as if he knows something, but during Saw 3 you wouldn't be thinking like that. As for the child in Saw 3, if you pay attention to the stuffed animal in Saw 4 that he is carrying I think Riggs ask about, he said that it was a simple story or something like that. That is when I started questioning his motives in this film. Then when you saw him supposedly being kiddnapped by the pig, you never saw anyone touch him. It was all about how the camera showed it that lead you to believe he was being kiddnapped. It was all subtle. You have to pay close attention to these movies to get everything. I have been going back to the other films to look for things that I could have missed. Before I went to see 4, I thought that maybe Jeff was going to be the one doing it all because Jigsaw said that he needed to play a game to get his girl back and it showed her in the room. If you think about it. Jigsaw knew that Amanda was the one who was playing the game and he knew that it was likely that she would die. Jigsaw isn't cold toward children in these films. He kept Eric's son alive by making sure Amanda took care of him. He would want to make sure this girl was taken care of. So, that only leaves the cop to make sure the girl isn't harmed. In these films, which I believe is one of the best horror series, you question things. You have to pay attention like you do in suspense movies. Which not all horror movies are like that. And now a days, it is hard to scare people. Visual effects are awesome, but really don't belong in horror movies because they do not scare you. You have to do gore. In Halloween days, someone watching you, stalking you, was the scariest thing. Don't get me wrong, I love Halloween, but you couldn't pull of a new movie like it was filmed. When Rob Zombie remade it, he redid it in a way to get you. But it is no way equal to the Saw movies. The gore is awesome and it is the part that gets you. They scare you after you have went to see them. No other horror movies now a days can make you feel like that. Because if you think about it, everyone could be a Saw victim. Everyone has things about them that they could learn from. I think that is way it scares you and makes you love the movies. I am excited they will be making more. No other sequel in any horror, action, or suspense movies have made it to where people wanted more, with exceptions like Aliens or Resident Evil (that might be because I am a die hard Resident Evil fan, too, though). Anyway, I guess I will be back at the edge of my sit Halloween 2009....

A few things that Serenity said really got me to stop what I was reading and make a comment…
First of all, the Agent that is doing Jigsaw’s work was in the third Saw. We saw him for a little bit during the Chainman investing scene. If you watch it closely when Agent Kerry speaks of there having to be more than one person, he looks startled. Maybe as if he knows something, but during Saw 3 you wouldn’t be thinking like that. Jigsaw isn’t cold toward children in these films. He kept Eric’s son alive by making sure Amanda took care of him. He would want to make sure this girl was taken care of. So, that only leaves the cop to make sure the girl isn’t harmed. In these films, which I believe is one of the best horror series, you question things. You have to pay attention like you do in suspense movies. Which not all horror movies are like that. And now a days, it is hard to scare people. Visual effects are awesome, but really don’t belong in horror movies because they do not scare you. You have to do gore. In Halloween days, someone watching you, stalking you, was the scariest thing. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween, but you couldn’t pull of a new movie like it was filmed.
Just to clear things up a little StevenF I broke it down for everyone a little higher up the page, check question 6)...

Quit pointing the stupid finger at people if you cant even be bothered to read what other people have already said abou the movie!!!

P.S. It was a good theory about everyone having kids but Ive been thinking back and YES alot of people did have kids but people like the photographer in the first one lived on his own etc. I think Jigsaw if just trying to give people another chance to live a good life and see where they went wrong, hes not making it easy for them as if he did they wouldnt learn anything about the value of life....

hey steven f first off i really dont think you shouldn't say anyone is stupid . The reason why anyone is on this blog is because we were interested to know when the next saw was coming out . Number 2 if you new how to read i already pointed out the reasoning for the kids being involved . Jigsaw was testing people not thankful for their life . SAw 4 showed us that jigsaw lost his son so maybe you should thank outside of the box you dont need to see saw 5 to frigure why the kids are involved they arnt thankful for their children which is a common factor to not be thankful for their lives . Anyone eager to see saw 5 6 7 etc i know for a fact a majority of them do not take precesdence over the torture chambers for the intollect and strategic writting by th authors of the story so know one on this blog is stupid . Remeber when you subscribe to speak your mind on this blog it said do not submit hate speech , debate with intelligence .

Costas Mandylor, you are so hot! Great acting in Saw IV! Thanks! I hope you'll come back for V&VI!
b2t@ I've never heard about Saw 7, but if it's true I'll watch it 'cause I'm a really big fan of the franchise. Saw is so succesfull because it's so different to all the other crappy horrormovies out there! It's a smart story and I love the characters! Keep going on Saw-makers, you see number #1 in the box office!
