After months of rumors, George Miller is currently hard at work casting Justice League of America. Miller has been in Los Angeles since Saturday, auditioning a lot of young actors in a marathon casting session that started Sunday and continues through Monday. And by young actors, I mean YOUNG ACTORS. This is starting to look more like a Teen Titans movie.
Apparently, Miller wants actors who will be able to grow into their roles over the course of several movies. Did you read that? SEVERAL MOVIES. Until now it has been highly reported that Warner Bros wanted to use this team-up film as a launching pad for eventual single super-hero franchises. It appears that might be the long term plans, but Miller is looking to do more than one JLA movie.
According to Hollywood Reporter, 35 to 40 actors are set to test for Justice League, including: Adam Brody (The O.C.), Joseph Cross (Running With Scissors), D.J. Cotrona (Windfall), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse), Michael Angarano (Sky High), Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek), Max Thieriot (Jumper), rapper Common, Friday Night Lights stars Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter. According to the report, the test included no costumes, and script pages.
Miller should be making some tough decisions by mid-week, which means we’ll be finding out the casting of f Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter probably by month’s end.

So, this film is going to piss all over the Justice League legacy. Nice.
If WB want to cast the Teen Titans, why didn’t they just make the Teen Titans?

What the hell? I was hoping to see a JLA like the Alex Ross guys in the picture. But with the cast George Miller’s going for, we won’t see that for another 15 years. Dammit!

No Tom Welling? I’m out.

Why everyone is getting their panties in a knot so soon is just silly. From all the articles I’ve read, including here, it’s an origin film so yeah the actors are going to be younger then in the amazing Alex Ross artwork. Whether that’s a good or bad thing remains to be seen. Let’s be patient and see what happens, and who is cast, before we get all worked up about something we love getting trashed by a Hollywood makeover to get teens in the theaters. Wow did that sound a tad bitter or cynical at the end, or is it just me?

this sounds like a big mistake to me. They can do young but nothing under 25 -_-

This sounds alright to me - granted, I don’t have much of a stake in this one. But really, Adam Brody isn’t that young, and neither is Common. Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s name in this makes me pretty happy, because after her (too-brief) turn in Grindhouse, I remarked that she’s going to be a star. At least, I hope so. I don’t know any of those other names, so maybe they are just disguising a Teen Titans movie as a JLA one, but it could be much worse.

It seems to me that all they want to do is kill the superhero movie genre. They want younger, some what famous actors to play these roles so they can get them cheap and put them on a multi film contract. While trying to appeal to a younger demographic. That way they can spend the rest of the budget on CGI effects and make thier money back on opening weekend. They could care less about a quailty script, they could care less about the history, or staying true to each character. All they see is a cash cow. And I don’t mean just the movie studios either. Part of the blame goes to DC Comics, (and especially Marvel), for selling out there most beloved properties to make some cash. But hey, that’s just what I think.

Stop Miller! His doing a horrible work for this movie.
His next idea for the film: Let’s cast Dakota Fanning for the Wonder Woman role!

This is such terrible news. I knew they would find a way of royally f—-ing this up.

Let’s all hurry up and not buy tickets now! Quick! There are other mega budget films to second guess, and time’s a wastin’…

Everybody at Warners needs to be fired, starting with George Miller. They keep repeating the same mistakes again and again. Chimps throwing darts come up with better decisions.

it’s not that bad… thought it would be much better if the cast was older… like maybe angelina jolie for wonder woman… anyway im still gonna watch it!

what a disappointment. in my opinion, no Justice League fan would like to see a “teen JLA” movie. we want to see a full-on action-packed Justice League movie!!
i agree:

i was really excited to have learned that ryan reynolds is being considered as the flash and now that there are talks of a “young JLA”, i’m really pissed off!!

As long as Tom Welling stays a million miles away from the project,
I’d be fine with seeing JLA cast a little younger. Not TOO young casting,
but different that could last a while if the film is decent.

I think it will be OKAY for this new start for the justice league. Because you they are remaking Incredible Hulk again for what I don’t know. Stay open minded to this Legacy in the making.

CAMILLE BELLE STEVEN (OF 10,000 BC) is the best choice for the WonderWoman role. she’s so gorgeous! Did you all guys see her coffee advertisement with George Clooney? Her ethereal beauty and personn WILL DO JUSTICE to the wonderwoman role. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for them to look for somebody for the role. She’s just right there in front of their nose.

Im not a fan but I think Camille Belle is the perfect WonderWoman…I hope they would cast her for the role. Her face is just so refreshing..She’s got the body and the face.
