Lionsgate has released a new teaser movie trailer for The Eye starring Jessica Alba as an accomplished concert violinist who has been blind since a childhood tragedy. Sydney Wells undergoes a double corneal transplant, and her sight is restored. But unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Her family and friends begin to doubt her sanity, but Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see. Directed by David Moreau and Xavier Palud (Them), and based on the acclaimed 2002 Hong Kong horror film, which has since spawned 3 sequels.
I have yet to see the original film by The Pang Brothers (although it has been highly recommended to me by many friends), but I’m betting that the Americanized sequel is probably not nearly as good (which is usually the case with these Asian horror American remakes). Check out the trailer below.Â
Watch the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo! Movies. The Eye hits theaters on February 1st 2008.

I just happened to be flipping through the channels a couple months ago and saw that it was on the Independent Film Channel, so I watched it! It was pretty cool. Had some pretty scary scenes in it (imo). I don’t know if I like Jessica Alba, though. She was cool in Sin City but that’s the only good movie I can think of that she’s been in. Maybe this will be another good one for her.

A trailer where we don’t hear Jessica Alba talk or act. Smart move Lionsgate. That’s not sarcasm by the way.

I saw the original and I think it deserved to be remade. I thought it was a great movie and I recommend anyone to see it before this film is released for comparison. Now I hope the remake doesn’t disappoint me. So far they made an exellent choice by hiring Jessica Alba in the lead rol.

Blaqk Audio in the trailer means I’m going to see it anyway.
The end.

I saw the original and I loved it. It was one of the best horror films that came out. It’s good that Jessica Alba is starting to star in horror films. I love horror films. I will definitely go out to see this movie!
