I don’t know about you guys but I’m beginning really getting excited for Doug Liman’s Jumper.
Jumper is an epic sci-fi action film starring Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson and Samuel L. Jackson. Set in the future, Jumper is about a race of people called Jumpers who have the ability to teleport, and another ancient race who are out to kill them all (Want to know more about the film? Click here).
I’m not a huge fan of Christensen (when an actor ruins your favorite movies from your childhood, it tends to put a bad taste in your mouth), but the effects look pretty cool, and from the look of it, the mythology behind the story has potential to lead to a great sci-fi film. And you have to love the tagline “Anywhere is possible.” And let’s not forget that Liman has created some really great films in the past including: Go and The Bourne Identity (we’ll try to forget Mr. & Mrs. Smith ever happened).
Check out the trailer after the jump thanks to IGN.
Jumper hits theaters on February 15th 2008.

That was a cool trailer, but should i be worried that it’s being released in in February?=\

The first book was great, but I’m concerned about the rewrite. I liked the original idea that anyone could become a jumper.

That was a great trailer I might go see it when the reviews come out, hopefully Fox will wise up and drop this in the summer instead. Peter, give Hayden a chance it was Lucas’s fault he sucked in Star Wars. I mean even Samauel wasn’t that good in Star Wars. The dialogue in the film was sad.

Ever see Shattered Glass? Hayden is a good actor, and that movie is proof. It’s the writing, if anything, that ruined the Star Wars prequels.

I thought Mr. & Mrs. Smith was a great movie…
this trailer looked cool

I always thought Nightcrawler had the coolest mutant power. I think I might like to see a futuristic sci-fi movie based on this ability.
@ Nathaniel: Hayden was excellent is Shattered Glass.

I just watched it with the sound off and I think it looks great. Plus, I think studios have realized that President’s Day weekend can be lucrative for film-turds (see Ghost Rider and a string of Marvel sub-par Valentine’s Day releases), so why not release something that’s got quality? Glad to see Jamie Bell in this role. Hope this washes the Vader taste off of Hayden’s career.

I am SO sick of you whining FANBOYS who are STILL bitching about Hayden Christensen and Star Wars.
Get the f_ck over it.
He was Anakin/Vader, it was Lucas’ movie, and the movies are done, so move on, shall we? Oh, and by the way, your mom wants you to move out of the basement.

Why can’t people watch the movie before they make comments on anything?

The writer of the book Jumper, Stephen Gould, was a great scientist who also wrote a terrific story. I recommend checking it out. I hope Hollywood doesn’t chew up the story too much.
