This movie was interesting and possibly useful for someone who would like to see what teaching is like, but it seemed very awkwardly scripted.

Some of the situations were very realistic, such as the class who pushes on the new teacher and the fact that the VP has no time after accepting the management position.

I thought that the teachers seemed very pathetic in this film and petty. I am a guy who has recently lost the student perspective that we all have after we graduate of what schools are like and have now dispelled those perceptions for new perceptions as a student teacher working with teachers. I feel that teachers are not the self-centered and spineless people portrayed in this movie and instead possess amazing skill at balancing personal lives, obligations, people coming in and out of the classroom, unexpected interruptions while teaching 15-35 young people about the world.

I hope that while viewing this movie you realize that it is about as accurate for helping someone know the teaching world than something like "Backdraft" or "Ladder 49" is for showing the job of firefighters.

Buy did your boyfriend like it? I work with teachers. This is one that I've been waiting for - hoping that there's a movie that shows what school is really like.
