The official movie trailer for Pixar/Disney’s Wall-E hit the web today. Update: We originally had a french version embedded, but Disney has decided to release the English/U.S. version of the trailer a day early, and you can now watch that version below.
Check out the new WALL-E trailer after the jump, followed by a new official plot synopsis.
I have gotten a bunch of e-mails complaining that the trailer is old, but it isn’t. This new trailer is just very similar to the previously released teaser. The end of the trailer with Wall-E looking to the sky is exactly the same. What is added with this new release is the new Pixar intro featuring WALL-E and his discovery of his bug friend. You can read a lot more about the plot and characters of the film from the Pixar presentation at Comic Con through this link. I really think this might be Pixar’s best movie yet. You can watch the previous teaser trailer at this link.
You can also check out the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo Movies.
Plot Synopsis:
What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off?
Academy Award®-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton (”Finding Nemo”) and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios (”The Incredibles,” “Cars,” “Ratatouille”) transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL•E.
After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL•E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL•E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL•E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen.
Joining WALL•E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots.
Filled with surprises, action, humor and heart, WALL•E was written and directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris, co-produced by Lindsey Collins and features original and innovative sound design by Academy Award®-winner Ben Burtt (”Star Wars,” “Indiana Jones,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”).

Why wait to see it in English? Well, unless you can understand and read French, then that would probably be the best reason. Also, I was kind of let down by the “trailer”, it’s pretty much Teaser #2 for the film. Don’t get me wrong, this movie looks freaking fantastic already and I cannot wait to see it, I just… wish I could actually get to see more than the same clip over and over.

Wow. I think this could be their greatest work yet. The attention to detail in this film looks astonishing. It always is with Pixar flix, but the space landscapes and barren wastelands that Wall-E cruises around could end up looking flat-out breathtaking. Me thinks I likes, a lot.

I’m guessing that in much of your Wall-E web surfing/anticipation you may have come across this, but if not, here is the Buy N Large corporations website, the company that builds Wall-E robots.

The new Wall-E Movie Trailer looks pretty good. Pixar really never releases a bomb. With a personal love of robots and A.I. I look forward to this apparent Pixar spin on Short Circuit.

I’m very excited to see Pixar’s take on space, planetary landscapes, and overall nod to the sci-fi genre. I think Wall-E has the potential to be a gorgeous film. Read that Jeff Garlin is in the film also, he has a great voice. Anyone heard more rumors of the potential “live action” part of the film?

it looks cool. i cant believe they started to plan all these movies from toy story(1993-4) to wall-e. Its like as soon as they finished making 1 they make a next 1 straight away.

Does Wall-E remind anyone else of another famous robot??? #5 from short circuit…..

To see a picture. I guess there’s only so many robot designs out there but they could have tried a little harder.
