It's John and his girlfriend/wife/whatever in a flashback. The glass picture is John escaping from his crashed car when he tried to kill himself once he found out he had cancer. It's all explained in a comic I saw somewhere a while ago. Both flashbacks!

Saw 4 and 5 ???

Tobin Bell Signed a 5 year contract, 6 saw films, that is his ex wife in the picture above, she will be carrying on jigsaws work, jigsaw is dead, that is a backflash (notice the long hair) this is showing him before what would be kemo treatment which would cause him to lose his hair. amanda is also dead but will probably apear in backflashes as well.

the whole basis of this movie isnt keeping one certain game running, but a series of twists which keep the story running and keeping it interesting. things you dont usually notice will become of the utmost important of imformation. (the backflash of the woman in saw 3 while hes getting operated on turning out to be his wife)

Perhaps that particular picture is a flashback but it is clearly not. Perhaps your "ownage" was a bit premature as the explanations for whats going on i that picture could be one of a vast number of potential explanations

i wouldn't be surprised if Bell was playing his characters twin or something as silly as that

it appears that the explanation is going to go beyond mere flashbacks

but i can't say ive appreciated any of the twists in the previous films and will likely feel the same about whatever they have waiting in this one

Besides seeing his corpse and hearing his voice on a tape, we're not going to see/hear "Jigsaw" outside of flashbacks.

I think that having his wife carry on his work would be predictable and kind of lame.

jigsaw clearly died in the last movie. lets be honest here. jigsaw coming back from the dead would be the true lame thing here. and yea. look it up saw 3 spoliers, or any other movie synopsis web sites, says jigsaws ex-wife carries it on.

I have to agree with... Nick... When he said "I think that having his wife carry on his work would be predictable and kind of lame". I was thinking about this earlyer... other possable people that could take over for John/Jigsaw not that he is dead.

I forgot to put on the list Adam, you never see him actually die. You do see Amanda put the bag over his head to try and kill him. Remember in the bigging of... SAW 3... when Detective Matthews was looking around with his flashlight and he first sees Adam's skeleton and then when he sees Dr. Gordon's foot you would think it would be a skeleton like Adam's body, but it isn't. I think that Adam is still alive and Dr. Gordon and Adam are working together.

Last night I watched... SAW 1... and I think that all the people he did the traps to except for the fat guy and the guy that got burned to death. I think he was testing all the people who could take over for him once he died. I think he choice Amanda because Amanda would be the last person you would think to be the next Jigsaw.

Amanda might be John/Jigsaw's daughter and she doesn't know it. Maybe thats whats in the onvalop. That might be another reason why he picked her.

What about Obi. I know he is not the next Jigsaw, but why would they have him in John/Jigsaw's flashback?

I keep thinking, and have thought for a while, that Dr Gordon has to pop up again at some point; we never found out what happened to him. Maybe he was helping Jigsaw and Amanda? I don't think Adam will return because we saw his body in Saw 2, half decomposed. Shame though, cos that would have been cool!

I did not know what spoiler means (English isn't my mother tongue indeed): but now i will never forget!

I watch SAW 2 last night and I was wrong about Adam's body being more half decomposed then Dr. Gordon's foot, they look the same. If it's not Dr. Gordon or Adam, I really do think it will be Detective Matthews son… Danial. I've also allways wondered how he setup some of the trapes, for example the guy in the cross looking thing that twisted his armes and legs around. John/Jigsaw could hardly walk and I know Amanda couldn't do it herself. So there must be 1 or 2 other people.

Hmmm, good point Todd. The sheer quantity and sometimes style of some of the traps would have required more strength and energey than they even both had combined, so that would suggest they were getting help from somewhere else. There must be more to Jigsaw's background than we know yet - obviously his wife is going to play a part in the next movie. Aaarrgh! I really want to see Dr Gordon come back! I'll be so disappointed if the series ends and we never see him again. Just think - Amanda was the only other one to get out alive and she was grateful to Jigsaw; maybe Lawrence was the same?

As much as I love Jigsaw I have to admit that I'm getting bored with the same old crap. Cody said that Tobin Bell has signed a 5 year contract to make 6 films, that is absolutely rediculous, 3 would have been enough. I'd be surprised if this film makes a lot of money, because everyone is so sick of it.

jigsaw gives his speech to cecil you did this you didnt do that he ends with live or die cecil your choice its mainly the same thing that is on most victims recorders but the fact that he says it to cecil in person is the signifigance i think. 0h, john also tells cecil how to get out of the trap 'push your face against the blades push hard cecil to remove your restraints that bind you' not a direct quote but close enuf

if you watch the clinic trailer the audio isnt really important but youll see why i think johns games start with cecil

I think Amanda is John and his ex-wife Jill daughter. In the first SAW when he said to Amanda “ you don’t know me… but I know you”. I think when John and Jill broke up Amanda was a baby so, she didn’t know who her father is.

I am a huge Saw fan, but I have never commented on any forum before. But...from the look of the picture above it seems that it is obvious that at least THAT part is "prequel". It seems as if she is telling him that he is obsessed about whatever it is that he is doing, whether or not she knows what it is....Maybe he is trying to figure out EXACTLY how he survived the crash(I saw a ruler in the background, or whatever that thing is called )If it is prequel, it would make for an okay storyline. He survived and he needs to know why...I don't know. Maybe she's telling him to let it go. I know it sounds stupid.lol.

No they said it wasn't a prequel but shes holding a picture of someone and shes saying like look and shes trying to tell him something. Or maybe she is arguing with him! I can't wait to see what jigsaw has up his sleeve this time!
