Jessica Biel

The question of the week has now become: Who will play Wonder Woman in George Miller’s Justice League of America live-action movie. Yesterday we reported that Australian actress Victoria Hill had recently auditioned for the role. And now EW’s industry sources are saying that Jessica Biel (The Illusionist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is in talks to swing the lasso of truth. Biel’s reps say that it’s way too early to know if a deal will happen, and Warner Bros. won’t confirm the rumor, of course.

But isn’t Biel just a little too small for the role? The superhero is probably best known for her curvaceous long legs, but Jessica is only 5′7½” and that’s according to her publicity materials (read: probably shorter). The modern day Wonder Woman character stands around 6′3″ while the older version was much shorter (5′11″ was “amazonian” height for a woman in the 1960’s).

Biel hasn’t really impressed me, and neither has the concept/character of Wonder Woman (invisible plane? lasso of truth?), although if you’re going to do it at all - do it right. I hope that Warner Bros finds someone much more suitable for this role.

Someone more suitable for the role like maybe me? lol

She´s an awful choice, if she´s picked well it´s certainly not for her acting abilities

If this is true, then the reports that Silver wanted her where true all along. I think that this a mistake. But they have done a bad job from the start. Silver couldn't get a director/writer so he passed it to someone else. The only thing that he has had his hand in, is Jessica Biel has been his one choice all the time. This will mean most likely, that if or when they make their Wonder Woman movie, Biel will be Wonder Woman.

When you're dealing with iconic characters like the JLA, I think you'd have no choice but to go with unknown actors for the roles. Big A-list actors would just be distracting.

I agree that Jessucka Biel is a horrible choice. If the producers are looking for names whic are tall AND pretty, I suggest Mandy Moore and Joss Stone (both are 5'10''). Moore is a very talented actress and JLA would be the opportunity for her to do something different. As for Stone, she wasn't given much to do in Eragon, but she looks good with black hair and has a fondness for speaking in accents (so the fact that she's British is of no concern). I strongly recommend these two Hollywood producer guy!

Time for a change, Tara Banks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give her a break! She's very atheletic and fit, and they can make anybody look tall (Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Tom Cruise - aren't they all shorter than Jessica Biel?)

Morena Baccahrin(Serenity) is the perfect choice.

I’d put my money on her, if I were a studio exec. She would make a K.A. Wonder Woman. She has the bod and the moves. You guys did see her in Blade: Trinity. Plus she has the star power right now. Jessica Alba might also do it. But I think Biel has the charisma and pure spunk to pull it off. The Lasso, just made people tell the truth, but Wonder Women has super human strength and speed. She has the power to communicate with animals, super hearing, and she can fly. She also had some really nice gadgets. Remember the invisible plane. Come on people, if they did it right, it could be great. For me there would have to be more of a sci-fi but real day element like the X-Men. No throw back to the early days like they did in that old Captain America movie. It has to to feel current yet futuristic with the technology and hopefully conceptually someone that all of us, who made not be familiar with all of the comic book seriers can relate to. I say all of the cartoons and the TV show, but I have not read all of the comic books and the many character changes that Wonder Woman’s undercover persona went through. There are plenty of villians from the comics and even the cartoons to put her up against. She was ripped in Blade: Trinity too. I would definitely not want to be cornered by her in a dark alley.

    Peace and Love.

Mandy Moore is a great actress, I thought Walk to remember was great but most of her other movies were a diappointment not because of her, but because how the movies were written. Her second best movie in my opinion was how to deal. The rest were somewhat disappointing, In saved she was suppose to be a bad christian yet she was robbed, etc in the movie and came out as better than the other jerks, so if they wanted to make christians look bad the writter didn't know what they were doing. Leap of Faith did a better job of it even though I'm not that crazy about Steve Martin. Because I said so also seemed a bit silly I thought the Architect was actually a better choice for her. The Musician has an unruly child, shows parent's lacks disapline, not a good sign, Musician's father makes out with her mother again not a very good sign.

I think even thought Jessica Biel isn't 5'10, she could possibly play Wonder woman. She could wear elevated shoes to look talker. I don't think Wonder Woman has to be 6'3" that Christopher Reeve's as Superman and I don't think Wonder woman was as tall as Superman. Mandy Moore is 5'10" and could play Wonder woman without any elevated shoes. If Biels plays it they should darken her hair, if Mandy plays it her hair should at the least be dark brown, though I think the characters hair is suppose to be black so to do it properly they should have very dark or black hair. More along the lines of Lynda Carter than Kathy Lee Crosby. Katherine McPhee also seems a bit short isn't she shorter than Jessica Biel, great looking, but don't want a short Wonder Woman. How tall is she with elevated shoes?

Tom Cruise looks short in his movies, go watch them again.
