Quentin Tarantino has taken on the Martial Arts Revenge, Blaxploitation and Grindhouse genres, and he now wants to make a call back to the 1970’s European nudie films. Tarantino told the Daily Telegraph that he wants to make:
“… a cool sex movie that would take place in Stockholm, with a couple of Americans visiting a couple of Swedish friends… just going out drinking, having a good time, hooking up. If I actually do an erotic movie, I’m going to have to reveal what I find sexy, what turns me on… It’s got to be kind of kinky, because that’s what’s cinematic, that’s what’s fun. Everything else is just - shagging.”
Oh jeeez. We already know that Tarantino has a foot fetish. I’m pretty sure I don’t want to know about Tarantino’s kinks and what he “finds sexy.” Please Quentin, don’t make a sex movie! Fear not, this all seems like meaningless talk. And even if it wasn’t, Tarantino has talked about a bunch of projects that he has never followed through with (his WWII-movie: Inglorious Bastards, for example). And while we’re on the subject, why can’t Tarantino just make another Tarantino movie again? I’d give 2 Kill Bills and 1 Grindhouse for one more Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction.

I love the Kill Bills and think they are just as good as his earlier work.
But I get what you’re saying about Death Proof. QT has a great director in him, it’s about time he makes something that shows that again. Not to say I didn’t enjoy Death Proof, but it’s not a serious film.

Peter, I’m with you bud. What comes to mind is the rabbit scene from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”:
Run Awaaaaaaay!!!!!

Quentin Tarantino is overrated, Pulp and Kill Bill are great movies but the rest are overrated hype garbage. Death Proof is so horrible, do not understand why people like, let alone love this movie. People need to get off of his d*ck already (did you hear me slashfilm, get off already).

QTs “i wanna make this” statements are so silly. Its just like when Im drunk and talk about different ideas that would be awesome for a movie. Ill never actually film (most of) them, but its fun to talk about. I just want to Inglorious Bastards, and have it be a reaffirmation of QTs legendary/genius status. It needs to be epic, or nothing.

I am up for any movie QT makes next, though hoping for Bastards…
I love his work and loved Death Proof, I can’t see how you say it is horrible and I think it is a serious as it was meant to be, it was a Grindhouse film, it was supposed to be silly. You have to watch the movie the with that context in mind (IMO).

I respect Tarantino as a filmmaker. I’ve seen everything up to Death Proof and I appreciate the films he makes. I don’t care what the subject line is, if it has good writing (and more so than not the movies do), to me its worth watching.
If the movie is greenlit, I’d worry more ,but for now not so much. I think Kevin Smith’s movie, “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” sounds a lot more interesting than Tarantino’s pitch. Smith’s is a sex comedy which after the success of “knocked up” is perfect timing to come out. With Tarantino’s I envision flashbacks to watching the first Hostal…just without the brutal second act.

I agree. The Kill Bills were stylish, but lacked any substance, and Deathproof looks rubbish.
He should indeed go back to his early days.

I FREAKIN LOVE HIM. HAHA HE IS SOOO SEXXII. FOR REALS THOU. He is a very brilliant director and screen writer. He thinks outside the box, where other directors are afraid to go. Theres nobody like him. Very original.
