Transformers director Michael Bay says he will probably leave preproduction on a Transformers sequel so that he can work on another film before the big Hollywood strike of 2008.
‘Transformers 2′, well that’s another story. Iching [sic] to work pre-strike (June) so I might jump ship and come back a year or so later cause people at the studio have been dragging for two months. Not sure why. I’ll keep you informed.”
I wonder if this film will be the Disney adaptation of Prince of Persia (which was listed on the pre-strike memo) or 2012: The War for Souls. Bay has also just screened the final IMAX cut of Transformers:
“But I just saw the first IMAX print of ‘Transformers’. Not depressing - freakin AWESOME! They need to bottle the magic of IMAX because it’s the future of cinema. It comes out next Friday the 21st. I added some extra scenes.”

Michael Bay sucks!!!! Thank god he’s jumping ship on a transformers sequel. Get a real director in there that actually knows something about the transformer and doesn’t use their “artistic lisense” at free will. Hey Mike, if it aint broke don’t fix it! Great news.

I actually really enjoyed that movie for what it was (whether that’s due to Michael Bay or not I’m unsure). Went out for dinner with some buddies and caught it after. To be totally honest, we had a blast, but then I’ve had great movie-going experiences with absolutely awful films strictly on the merit of the crowd I went with.

Man i hope the transformers movie goes ahead there’s nothing more important to the humain race than the transformers i’ve been a transformers disipled for over 20 years and i have yet to see anything that comes close to the transformers. as for the movie i was dissapointed when i saw the flames on optimus but after seeing the movie i like it same with bumbblebee the camaro is way cooler than a vw bug. i bought the movie the first day it was for sale and it my bed time story every night with out exeption. its way better than watching cartoons over and over, well i still do watch them all the time now i have a good excuse i’m trainning my kids.
LIFE = Transformers
lets all send letters bagging Micheal Bay to not jump ship, anything esle sucks so he can do them after he makes the transformers 2.

I’M not sure what a lot of you are smoking, but Michael Bay is a a darn good producerand director. Hi movies for the most part are pro-America, and pro-military, never painting them in a bad light, unlike so many of the other so call ‘Hollywood Elites”.
Keep up the great work Mr. Bay, and I hope that you decide to stay with Transformers 2

geezus! clearly theres gonna be another one. stop fretting fans who think that they and only their comments will make a difference. the question really, is, where is it all gonna lead? i’m thinking (hoping) mr bay takes a look at the end product (fantastic as it is) with a view to building the relationships, particularly the decepticons, of the machiens in the second installment. Perhaps with an eye clearly focused on the possible Armageddon to come in the third and final installment. Unicron has to finish it all surely? Optimus and Megatron destroy one another, their forces in dissarray…only for the beast of their collective creators to force its planet hungry rage upon us all? oh the transforminhumanity!!!!!!!!!!!
