I was there as well and I was HUGELY dissapointed. I was also feeling nauseous 5 minutes in from the horrible camera work. I kept hoping that the shaky shots would stop once the film got rolling but...if anything they got worse. Terrible decision to shoot the whole film that way. Yes some zombies were killed in fun ways, and Romero's humour is in top form, but these characters were unlikeable and the relationships didn't ring true at all. Not to mention that these supposed "film students" obviously hadn't gotten to the classes on how to use a camera yet! This film is shot as if made by some who just got his first camera and posts everything he shoots on You Tube...and to me, that kind of footage should stay on You Tube and not be projected onto a big screen. I was 3 for 3 in TIFF 07 films before this...and I really didn't expect to not like Diary...but I wouldn't see it again if they paid me $19.37.

Thank you for your review, I was at that screening and I completely agree with you. The movie is an ok rental, but Romero has clearly lost his touch since notld and dotd.

Of course all the fanboys were cheering every single little detail, but with a less partisan audience, I don't think you would have many impressed viewers.

Not terrible, but not terribly good.
