Hitman

In June, we posted the teaser trailer the big screen adaptation of the hit video game Hitman. I complained that it failed to impress me, and got almost 70 comments in agreement. The new trailer, which can be seen after the jump, impresses me a little more. The cinematography looks pretty impressive, but not much else. I thought the whole point in the game was to be sneaky, and remain quiet and undetected? The movie looks like it’s loud and full of explosions, flash and style but no substance (hey, sometimes this formula can result into a fun action flick, so we’ll have to see).

In the movie, Timothy Olyphant plays Agent 47, a professional assassin for hire, who is ensnared in a political conspiracy, which finds him pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military as he treks across Eastern Europe. hired by a group known as “The Agency” to kill targets for cash. Hitman is helmed by french director Xavier Gens. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on October 17th 2007.

Check out the trailer after the jump.

Yeah this trailer is definitely a lot better than the one from before. Looks kinda cool.

yaa looks okk… but it all depends if they push the violence or not ..r we gonna see blood or is the camera gonna pull away ?

i liked timothy olyphant in deadwood so i want this movie to be good. The director is not really hollywood proven so i dont know what to expect from him. As for the violence, i cant imagine them taking a successful M-rated franchise and bringing it down to PG13.. its been a few years since mortal kombat and resident evil proved you could have success without bringing it down to pg13. then again after Die Hard 4 i dont know what to expect…

The game doesn’t require you to be sneaky in anyway, you can shoot up 90% of the levels and still complete it. This movie looks fun and action packed. Plus sneaking scenes don’t look the best in a trailer.

ive never been more angry does the director even know of the games existence what it this bull about being raised by a church and him killing evil, thats not a choice thats what he is paid to do he’d just as happily kill inoncents,… there are too many holes in this trailer let alone the movie but if they leave out stelath and make it an action flick there will be hell to pay from the gaming community

What happend to the TV spot trailer with the action music, that one is amazing, but these with the opera are not half as good.

striking down evil? pretty far off the actual game there…and in everything else.

47 is supposed to be cool, calm, and a “silent” assassin, not the next neo from matrix. The movie is somewhat pretty and flashy, but completely fails to portray the actual game.

Come on, Timothy Olyphant just ain’t suitable for this - at least looks wise.

He doesn’t even look like 47. He’s supposed to be slim, and has mostly expressionless face with sharp chiseled features. Timothy’s got alittle too much weight on him and his facial features ain’t sharp enough.

But at least vin diesel pulled out of the role- he’s bald, yes. But can you imagine a 47 with body-builder muscles ?

JEEZ! What in the world are they thinking! Raised by who? I believe that had they actually seen and played the game from the beginning they’d know that he wasn’t raised… he was created to kill… for money … period. Cold, calculating and efficient. But I guess Hollywood has to twist things around to get a story they think is more believable. I say leave it be! It wasn’t a popular game because it had sex and babes.

Mr. Olyphant… to short… not enough build (I agree Vin is to big), Not the right look facially and really not the right voice. Hmmmm maybe Vin could over dub the voice of 47. Well at least they didn’t pick a wrestler.

Ur totally rite ‘Toaster’ but i have some vaig issues! Timothy Olyphant is a great actor…he was great in ‘Scream 2′ as the killer, he was great in Die Hard 4,0 as the villain. But in this film he plays not just the good guy but the villian as well! how thats gonna work i dunno but he has the right volume of pshyco in him 2 make the rokle his own! i have every hitman game and i love em to bits and to be honest the 2nd trailer shows hitman really does look good!

P.S does any1 no the rating yet (UK or USA)

They should have used the voice over actor from the games. He looks identical to the video game version of 47.

Does anyone know the name of the remixed Ava Maria song?? It sounds like a dance remix?? I love it, it gave me goosebumps watching the trailor in the cinema…..

It’ll be more cool if they pushed the Ocean’s Eleven type of movie, where you don’t know exactly how he’s going to pull through it all until the very end, where everything falls into a masterfully worked out plan. In the game I remember you got bonus points if nobody knew your target was dead until you were long gone.

MovieGirl, I found the song you wanted. Its Ava Maria by Christina England and you can get it from itunes. Write me back to let me know if you got it. Hawk

Hey…Thankyou soooo much for taking the time to look. I LOVE that song, I’ve got it from iTunes. But, I still haven’t seen the movie yet, maybe I’ll do that soon. Is it any good??

i could’nt agree more that the original concept of agent 47 is to be a silent assasin but we must all agree that if the movie bases on on such background well we may all just hit the cinemas with our blankets and pillows…including the katana blade martial art skill was a fine improvisation else realistically one on one i cud put 47 in a very bad shape

Does anyone know what the song from the 2nd TV spot is? Here it is on youtube:
