Its been awhile since I spoke on this list. First Simon- Shawshank is an AMAZING ending I give it to you and thats one Looooong ass ending.

Whatchu talking bout Willis?

Silly? Yes. Here's the thing. I always love to do the top tens as Great Endings you should take a peak at. However my editor and chief always instructs me my top tens need to be BEST ENDINGS OF ALL TIME!! Many of my earlier work was ya know, best obscure villains, or obscure movie lines, so I do what the boss says. If I had to do the best EVER EVER?......God it would be a list of 25 or 30 flicks.

And to top it off funny- I should have called it My Top Ten Fave Endings.....But pete wouldn't let me....

Thanks for reading bro.

Hasn't anyone seen any other Chris Nolan movies like Memento and The Prestige. Those movies have endings that just kick you in the teeth cause you don't see them coming and it all makes perfect sense when it is over.

As far as your list goes, I'll give you Braveheart and Batman Begins. The rest are just plain silly. Rocky 2 was close but you definitely should of went with the first Rocky movie cause even though he didn't win, he went the distance and got the girl and I think more moviegoers can relate to that kind of an ending.

[...] If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!I will post flicks lists from other bloggers (if anyone wants to guest post, e-mail me) from time to time. I found this list of the Greatest Movie Endings ever over at /film. The most recent movie included in the list is Breach, which I haven’t seen yet, so I obviously didn’t read that description (it’s No. 10). Some interesting selections. This list just goes to show you how different people are affected in different ways by movies. Check it out. [...]

If you all think that those movies have good endings, then you should definately check out the Global Peace Film Festival. The GPFF has a mission to expand the definition of peace beyond anti-war, ideology, activism or specific causes, the Global Peace Film Festival films and events suggest a more personal message as reflected in the daily lives of individuals and communities over the world. Divided We Fall: Americans in the Aftermath is one of the movies in this Festival that many should see. a college student drives across America in the aftermath of 9/11 to discover stories that did not make the evening news. From the still-shocked streets of Ground Zero to the desert towns of the American West, Valarie Kaur's inspiring journey uncovers remarkable stories of hate violence, fear, and unspeakable loss.
This movie along with many others are very interesting movies that are simply over the top great.

Michael Keaton was ok for the role he played as Batman.
Remember, Batman and Batman begins are really two very different stories, where one is fanciful, one is more gritty and more to the truth.
In Burton's skewed Batman universe Keaton could make sense as Bruce Wayne, but could you imagine Keaton as Nolan's "Dark Knight"? No way

Reply to Dylan -

I just went to RT's Top 100 of all time and, unless I'm missing something, it's not there. Either way, is there a part of RT that considers how glowing the reviews are (6 of 10, 8 of 10, etc.)? If not, we're just talking about the percentage of positive reviews, which is a far different measuring stick.

On IMDb, Spider-Man 2 has a great score for a film with so many votes (a 7.8), but it's not in the Top 250. I don't mean to say I don't like the movie -- I do -- but I had to question your statement about it being considered one of the greatest films of all time.

Later.

Sean, Dylan-

Where and by whom is Spider-Man 2 considered one of the greatest movies ever? The best comic book-based movie, I can see, but I think that other statement is seriously overdoing it.

Best,
Norm

No way is Christian Bale better than Michael Keaton. They are like your kids you don't love one more than the other just differently. Everything else cool. But best ending of all time would have to be The Matrix. I mean come on your open to believe that there is more out there and then he flys off, awesome. And for Jurca Shawshank has the great beach ending with two friends very very cool.
