SuperBad had a super weekend at the box office. But people didn’t show up to buy tickets, they laughed and loved it. Here is a look at the critical and moviegoer response coming out of opening weekend:
- Almost 7,000 users on the Internet Movie Database rated the movie an 8.8 out of 10, which puts the film on the Top 250 Movies of All Time list at #78.
- Critics rated the movie as one of the best Hollywood produced films of the year on RottenTomatoes with an 86% Fresh and over 122 Reviews. Only six other Hollywood movies this year have earned a greater critical response (Hairspray, The Bourne Ultimatum, Ratatouille, Knocked Up, The Simpsons Movie, Zodiac).

That list is a joke.
Sure the movie was funny, but better than 2001, Some like it hot and Touch of Evil among many others?
Give me a break.

That list must have changed something this year. Changed something in the way that it is easy for new movies to get in the top 250 movies list. Because every fair movie this year is getting in. For Christs sake, even the overrated Die Hard 4.0 found its away in that list.
Anyways, Knocked Up or Transformers were in it too, and hopped out. I just have a feeling that it easier to get in top250 during first two weeks of the film distribution in US cinemas, After those two weeks, its same for all movies.

Most new comedies are either rehashes of GOOD comedies or meant for the lowest common denominator of intellegence, or both (I will not mention movie names, but I think people here will figure out which I’m referring to..)
This means, among other things, that they MUST spoon feed jokes and pratfalls to the stupid masses who wouldn’t understand regular comedy, or be offended by it…
In which these masses eat it up and then go to imdb to report which are the ‘best’ movies

Hey, I just wanted to say that The Lookout has an 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. Man, how do people keep forgetting this movie? Easily one of the best and smarted and most well-written movies of the year.
