i know you have said before that palahniuk is the greatest untapped resource in hollywood but if i was producer i wouldnt want to gamble too much on the mainstream success of a story invovling masturbation turned disembowlment turned incest or even a movie that climaxes around an anal bead finally dislodging to release a large amount of human excrement in public.
Overall i think palahniuk just got too carried away with the whole nihilism thing and tried to push it further and further with each book. Granted I would like to see Survivor and Invisible Monsters, but i think that im apart of a niche audience to begin with and that niche only gets smaller with addition of Necrophilliac paramedics and oedipital relationships.
just my opinion.
