You need to watch the trailer playing on HDNET channel on Direct TV. It shows alot and the joker is very dark and dimented. Nothing like Jack’s version. Of course these movies are nothing like those.

Does anyone see the similarites between Heath Ledgers Character the Joker and Brandon Lee’s Character the Crow……Both died at 28.

I am curious of how the film will be recieved now that Heath was found dead. I think its a very tragic situation. This will probably make the film a cult draw from the morbid draw people have to death and movie stars. I just hope that his daughter is thought of and the photo hounds give her and her mother the distance they need in this trying time.

no characters from Tim Burton Batman movies please.
There is no way to beat Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer and most of all Jack Nicholson.

In general, Batman Begins was IMHO only perceived so well because the Joel Schumacher Batman Films had been so awful for anyone older than 12.

Batman Begins right after Batman Returns would’ve flopped.

Tim Burton is the mastermind of ‘dark atmosphere movies’ IMHO again.
The Burton Batman Films could only be topped in terms of raw violence, SFX, or with sex; but artistically, it’s nearly impossible.

I’m also not too sure if it’s a great idea to have the Joker use make-up and then let it wear off to show how little he cares for himself, bc after 3 days his growing beard would shine through. C’Mon, bleaching a guys’ skin with a chemical accident is not as unrealistic as gaining superpowers from such an event. You can have an adult movie with a Joker who got his skin/hair/face changed like in the 1989 Tim Burton Batman. This Joker can be good, depending on how well (and graphically) they show how his faced was sliced and then sewed together by some underground doctor.

The movie is going make a killing. Because of the director’s and writer’s ability to stick with specific comic books with essential storylines, they were finally able to get it right this time. My only concern is actually the third movie. I was personally dissapointed by movies like xmen 3, a little bit by spiderman 3 and blade 3 (mostly because of that retard “Drake”). Hopefully it wont suffer the 3rd movie curse, although I have enjoyed every one of Nolan’s movies so far. Guess I will just have to wait. Joker rules!

the “new” Joker is a joke! Hope the movie turns out better than the makeup Ledger is wearing. Jack Nicholson will always be the greatest Joker, that role belonged to him.

I really love the direction they are going with the joker with his smile being a scar from someone slicing his mouth. This is what must drive him over the edge. Him painting his face instead of being bleached is even more disturbing.

This will be the biggest movie ever

one thing about the picture is that, he’s not realli a big character in the pic, just a thug in facepaint, i think theJoker should dress madly still, its part of the character!!
this is probaly just for one part of the film i suppose, also the white face appears to be painted on, i thought all of his skin was supposedlt bleached, so how does it jus look like facepaint!!????

i think the joker should resemble the comic book and cartton appearance, but with a more evil sadistic look, i also think the Joker should be alot more ‘psycotic’ (spelling) and less jokey than the Joker portrayed by Jack Nicholson

You’ve got it backwards. The Crow looks like the Joker from the comic books. Precedence, people. It makes all the difference.

I think Ledger will make a great Joker but the costume looks like a bad nightmare or drug induced version of Cesar Romero. If I wanted to see that I would would watch dvd copies of the Batman series.

Please someone fire the costume designer.

I would have to say, after seeing and hearing the teaser, that Ledger sounds like Nicholson’s Joker a little bit when he says his line, but the laugh is NOT there by any means! It’s not maniacal(?) enough. The still photo shows the right clothing, but the “smile” was surgically crafted in the first film, not really painted on. One of the problems that always seem to happen when a character is re-introduced into a franchise: all the details are compromised in some way. I am interested to see how Ledger’s Joker develops in the film.

The trailer was done exactly how I said it would/should be done. It didn’t show anything, but still gave us a little taste of what’s to come. I wasn’t impressed with the Jokers voice though. It sounds like Jack before he turned into the Joker. Too much gangster, not enough pranksters. The laugh was good, but nothing to get overly excited about. Actions speak louder than words anyway. As long as he’s the most evil Joker we’ve ever seen, I will be happy with it. It looks and sounds like Ledger is at least trying his hardest to get the Joker down 100%. Heâ€™s showing great effort on embracing the role, I’m sure he will do just fine. As for the pictures, none of them have really impressed me so far. Iâ€™m still waiting for a close up, full body shot of Joker exactly how heâ€™s going to appear in the film. Preferably one that isnâ€™t blurry either, I want to see a good quality photo before I get too excited about the new look.
