The ziggurat model is clearly positioned in a diplay case in front the ark of the covenant (which is oriented end-on). The ark on top of the pyramid effect is an optical illusion. It is quite possible that the step pyramid could be a miniature component from a much, much larger model which would naturally be enhanced via digital FX in post production.

My first thought was that the pyramid could be from Teotihuacan (The City of the Gods) because it's steep-sided design doesn't seem to fit with the Mayan architecture of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Are you guys seriously believing that it's AN ACTUAL PROP from a movie that is CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION, of an an INACCURATE MODEL of the Lost Ark, 10 times the size it should be, on top of a very plasticky looking rudimentary aztec ziggurat, with model railroad trees, rather than a roughly knocked up promotional point of sale item for a toy company at their booth at Comicon?

Indy must foil the alien invasion fleet by getting the lost ark to a ziggurat in the middle of the Nazca lines, because their alien geometry will enhance the power of God and fry the aliens...and Indy's vastly relieved when he sees the Ziggurat is only 20 feet tall!!!

Yeah, that must be it.

[...] Slash Film have been sent a photograph from the floor of the Comic-Con from what looks to be the booth of Indiana Jones and the City of Lost Gods. Is it significant for the upcoming film? [...]
