Tom Cruise does look ridiculous in the photo. He doesn't have the looks for that type of role or the presence, and I don't believe his acting skills are up to the task either. It probably will not be obvious in the film, but Tom Cruise is very short. I don't believe he suited for the role. It's almost funny to see him dressed like that. Is it me, or doesn't the hat look a bit large for him?

Well, at least I got my laugh for the day...

I am amused that the scientologist cult has been able to coax the German Republic into allowing them to havw their premiere 'star', dyslexic, illiterate Tiny Tom Cruise, film his latest self-aggrandizing puff piece on sacred German soil.

This vicious cult looks to entrap weak humans that are victimized in many ways to their way of thinking - and their 'religion' is based upon the writings (fueled by benzedrine and rum) of a second-rate science-fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard, who decided , in the 1980's, that the best way to become wealthy was to form a 'religion' to avoid the tax problems inherent with fleecing stooges.

Go to www.xenu.net to read more about this insidious cult and its weird adherents...like Cruise, John Travolta, and that ugly witch Greta Van Susteren.

scientology kills. scientology is a laughable cult...if it weren't for the hundreds of people dead because they tried to leave.

Cruise looks sinister in the eye-patch get-up, Collateral-type sinister.

Yes we all know the outcome of Stauffenberg's plot but that doesn't mean it can't be suspenseful. For example take the Kevin Costner flick from couple years back, Thirteen Days, about the Cuban missile crisis, we all know nothing happened because we're still here but the film walks a fine line between that realization and nail-bitting suspense.

And don't undermine the clear theme underlying the story; like Stauffenberg, we need someone from within the current political state to rise up against the leader of this country and put an end to his reign.

Hmm, I'm curious how much suspense they can wring out of this minor WWII episode. After all, most people know (thanks to high school history) how and when Hitler died, so they automatically know the outcome of Stauffenberg's ill-fated plan.

And is it just me, or does Tom Cruise dressing up as an eyepatch-wearing Nazi look a bit ridiculous?
