Cloverfield shot some footage for a flashback sequence at Coney Island.
“It’s about an alien that wipes out all of New York City,” one of the owners told the New York Post. “The footage is taken the day before everyone dies. A bunch of kids come to Coney Island with a video camera. The movie is a flashback to that day.”
Hmmmm an alien that wipes out New York City? I guess that doesn’t really give us any new information. But it does put to rest some rumors that claimed the film doesn’t involve an alien creature. According to the report, the production filmed a few scenes in front of the now-defunct and chained-up B&B Carousell, the famous boardwalk and at a hot buttered corn booth.
The article also says that NY1 reporter Torre shot “a lot more scenes than the one you see in the trailer.” She was kept in the dark about the project (”I had no idea that this was going to be a big-budget film or an independent type movie.”) and was forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement, and I’m not supposed to talk about it.”

okay, so it’s War of the worlds meets Blair Witch Project, not Godzilla meets Blair Witch Project….. unless the man was fed bullsh!t. But apparently “it’s” being referred to as a parasite so…. is this like the Thing?!?!?!?

If the entire movie is filmed in a home video type perspective then I would argue
that the entire movie is a flash back sequence.

I predict this will not be a conventional alien/monster/apocalyptic kind of movie since J.J. Abrams is not a conventional kind of creative producer/filmmaker.I think that the trailer we saw is probably the start of the last scene or end of the movie and it’ll probably end with a cliffhanger and leave everyone wondering what really happened,making it the most mysterious movie in history,kind of the way Blair Witch Project ended,with the camera falling down just before we see the truth,after all,J.J. Abrams seems to really enjoy leaving his audience scratching their heads.

I agree with zoom, this just sounds like some guy who was watching the filming and just assumed it was an alien. Abrams is so secretive that he will not even tell his own mother the plot of his movie, why would he reveal such a big part of the movie to some guy on Coney Island? Heck, I would not put it past Abrams to have shot all of that stuff just to throw people off, he is a tricky man.

I’m not that big a fan of Lost, but it really is special stuff. It’s just refined and different. So I trust that what he’s making here is going to be special, too.
I rather like the idea of the plot or what we assume will be the plot, with the
destruction already over, and rescue crews finding cameras and putting the
story together with what was recorded.
And I think it’s also apparent that this is a monster movie, and undoubtedly
Slusho.jp has a lot of clues as to what the thing is: a sea-monster.
As gay as that sounds, I’m willing to wait and see if this hype was worth
the wait…

I agree that Joe Average standing off to the side of the set knows the plot line of a movie that has this much secrecy around it. I think the guy just repeated what he got second hand…..if that.

I did not create this proposal/idea, but I want to see what people think about this. This came from a review from some kid on you tube. Lets hear the comments people. What do you think about this. ultimately no body knows.
If you look at the trailer you can see the number 3 being referenced to everywhere. The 63 degrees on the news channel, The 12:36, the 2004 ACE, numbers that are all dividable by 3. Last, but not least, you hear the thundering monster sound three times, each sound accompanied by a different event. Romans 1:18;For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness. So what in biblical mythology has connections to the slew of references in the trailer? The three great monsters. In Jewish belief, Behemoth is the primal unconquerable monster of the land, as Leviathan is the primal monster of the waters of the sea and Ziz the primordial monster of the sky. 1) The first monster roar is accompanied by an earthquake (Behemoth) 2) The second monster roar is accompanied by a huge fireball (Leviathan, for it can breathe fire) 3) The third monster roar is accompanied by the flying Statue of Liberty head (Ziz). Not convinced? The guy who says;maybe we can get a better view from the roof & has the Slusho logo on his shirt. Slusho is a classic J.J. Abrams icon, and it has appeared in both Alias and Lost, which are his shows. Slusho.jp has, by now, been confirmed as a part of the viral marketing campaign revolving around 1-18-08. Japan. Strangely enough, the character Rob, who is present in the trailer, was gonna fly to Japan a day after that party and the monster events. Let’s have a look around on that site. Not all pages are accessible. But there is an odd feature about the pages that are available. The main page background is on land, the Downloads page background is on air, and the History page background is on sea. Furthermore, the six buttons on the main page cause popups of various animals, namely a Horse, a Whale and a Bird. Behemoth, Leviathan, Ziz.

Here’s what I got. At 34 seconds at the lower left side of the fridge is something with the word “ding dang” on it. I looked it up and all I found was a Beach Boys song and some Korean english school called “Ding Ding Dang”, with the website www.dingdingdang.com. The site’s pretty basic like slusho.jp. It’s about a Korean English school. All we know about Rob is that he’s going on a long trip and stopping first in Japan. Maybe he’s about to go work for this school.Maybe this site is part of the viral marketing. Maybe I’m just full of crap. You decide…

For some reason Seamonkey won’t download flashplayer, and so I went to ethanhaaswasright.com, and, since I didn’t have flash, there was a message that obviously said “you need to download flash 9 player”, but along with that, above it, came this message:

i believe that the movie is going to have biblical backgrounds and such. maybe
not of one specific religion. Maybe it has something to do with the Revolations in the bible. just a thought. What ever happens i cant wait to find out the truth!

so with I’m adding on to my Revelations theory and decided to look into the Revelations and read 12:3-6 just curious and mentions a red dragon with seven heads and ten horns. this is probably just coincidental, but i thought it was interesting!

see everyone, the thing with bible prophecy is when they speak of lions and dragons, horns, crowns, etc. they all have a symbolic meaning. and the bible tells us what they stand for. it’s not about one person saying it means something, the bible itself will tell us. like those verses that agent leavening brought up about the dragon. if you keep reading more of the verses you’ll see in verse nine that the dragon is satan. because in verse 3 it didn’t say the dragon was coming out of water. before the dragon was described it said there was another wonder in heaven. plus, if i’m not mistaken this dragon was first described in the book of daniel.

Alright i am just a kid and dont know much but i do agree with Dj and that if this is just some flash back then WOW because i think JJ Adams can do better then just some Coney Islands flash back! Anyways it comes out tomorrow and everyone will be talking about it after that and maybe we will all be wrong! just a thought!!
