There are quite a few successful sequels out there that made more then their first movies… just google it. Ace Ventura being in the top 10 of all time!

EXPERIENCE shows that Ace Ventura - sequel #2 grossed 50% more at the box office then the first one.

There’s obviously a fan base and people will come- even though you won’t. If I was to analyze how the past repeats itself… I wouldn’t be SO quick to shoot this down.

Experience is gained by being able to analyze how the past repeats itself, and this type of sequel (different actor/character, change in target audience) has failed 20 to 1.

What ever my motivation to plug the movie, it’s still geared towards children NOT adults. You don’t like the idea? You don’t have kids? No interest in the movie, they couldn’t pay you enough to see it? Fair enough, don’t go.

I MAY hate the movie myself. Who knows. However, I’ll decide that AFTER I see it. As Uncle Albert says, “The ONLY source of Knowledge is Experience”

Only a FOOL draws conclusions with no experience.

It should be noted/disclosed, that the post above by “I Love Lucy” is actually a friend of Ace Ventura 3 star Josh Flitter. I was able to confirm this by a quick google search of their e-mail address. No wonder they are the only ones excited to see this horrible idea of a movie.

First of all… I think this movie has the potential to be great. Yeah, yeah… I know… another sequel… bla bla. However, Ace Ventura which had some classic, adult humor… and if you all recall was for a more mature audience.

I have a feeling this will be marketed (if they are smart) towards the kids. Parent’s who loved the first two movies will be able to take their kids to the more toned down family humor and enjoy with the kids too. So… same name, concept but apples and oranges to the original.

Personally, I think Josh was a great character in the other movies he has been in - casting couldn’t have been better. Nice to see a “fresh face” added to the new young stars. Break a leg Mr. Flitter!

Arrggg, I didn’t really like the second Ace Ventura so have no idea how they can breathe life into this franchise, then add the fact that Jim Carrey is no where to be found, I’m mortified to say the least.
