In case you were wondering (because we certainly were), Southland Tales is still in post production, and will eventually see the light of day. Director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) says that they are about half way through completing all the new visual effects.
“We have to deliver everything by the end of summer,” Kelly wrote on his blog. “I have to tell everyone that the amount of visual effects work being added to the film is SIGNIFICANT… and I am so grateful for the work being done by Thomas Tannenberger and his team at Gradient VFX in Venice Beach.”
And I’m sure everyone is also wondering, when are we going to get to see a trailer? Kelly says that Sony has hired a company to cut the trailer and that “the release date will be announced very soon.” Possibly at Comic-Con later this month? I can’t wait. Am I the only one who still has hope for this film?

Seeing Kevin Smith in the cast of this film only made me smile when I read your ‘Although the buzz is awful…’ comment.
“What buzz?”
“The internet buzz.”
“What the fuck is the internet?”
