 Bart Nude

Okay, so we all know that Bart Simpson gets naked in The Simpsons Movie. They showed part of the scene in the trailer where Bart rides through town in his baby suit, cleverly concealed by strategically-placed props ala Austin Powers. But did you know that we get to see Bart’s ding dong? I’m serious. Reports from a ten minute screening in London last week say that after the elaborate Austin Power sequence, “the audience gets a full view of his private parts through a gap in a hedge.” Series creator Matt Groening, who was in attendance, says he expects many complaints. But will the MPAA allow cartoon nudity?

Apparently the mpaa has already made their decision. The film was rated PG-13
for constant irreverent humor throughout or something like that. Nothing about
cartoon nudity was listed though. Should be interesting to see if this is all
a hoax to create controversy or if we will actually see a yellow ding dong.

Anyone notice the Nirvana Nevermind album cover reference?

    no, who’s nirvana?

I refuse to believe that’s really in the movie, Groening wouldn’t sacrifice what little dignity the franchise has left just to spark some controversy for cheap publicity. If I’m wrong then The Simpsons have finally hit rock bottom.

sarcasm never really translates well over the internet

lol, I had a feeling you did know, but I posted the album cover for everyone else to see the differences. I think it may be hard to believe that someone hasn’t heard of nirvana at all really.

Bart’s willy is old news. Observe the uncensored version of Bart’s Nirvana cover.

I guess The Simpsons have just hit rock bottom then. Just got back from the first show, and they did indeed show Bart’s penis. I guess they had to, as there was really nothing else in the movie worth talking about.

Just saw the movie. this is real. but don’t expect much.

I’ve seen the movie today, and it is true. It was shown for about 2 seconds. Movie is a must see if you love The Simpsons.

So everyone’s completely ok with this? would it still be ok if it was lisa’s exposed and anatomically correct vagina?

Bleh: Personally, I’m not okay with it. I think it was a bad decision. I think it’s a juvenile attempt at humor (humor in the loosest sense of the word). To me, “The Simpsons” actually used to be something: a social critique wrapped in a cartoon that could make you laugh at society and at people by exaggerating some of our weirder aspects, both as individuals and as a town. (I likened it a bit to “Married with Children”, at least in the concept of taking things to an exaggerated extreme to make fun of them.)

Now, to me, “The Simpsons” is just commercialized crap that has long since lost any punch it once had. The movie just reinforces that, with Bart’s “exposure” being just one aspect of this. I’m not saying I still don’t find a few episodes funny here and there but, overall, “The Simpsons” has, I believe, run its course and, as others have said, has managed to hit bottom. This is just my opinion, of course.

Jeff, I completely agree with you. My point is just that there’s a stigma in our society about nudity. Male nudity almost always has the connotation of being humorous rather than sexual for some reason, and because of that is more light-hearted and acceptable in our culture. While female frontal nudity remains relatively taboo. An equal comparison to bart’s full frontal (or cartman’s on south park) in female form (animated 8-10 year old girl with semi-anatomically correct genitalia) would pretty much never exist in our culture; no one would ever be able to come up with a context that would work, and the audiences would be absolutely outraged. I just think its a ridiculous double standard.

the penis was a great simpsonesque touch! It was as socially relevant and double edged as anything the simpsons has shown/said before. After all, what are we but a society in SAAAADDDD shape over our puritanical fear of youthful nudity. A boys penis…? dear god, pluck thine eyes!
So Groening and company toasted yet another taboo and showed Bart’s lil wee-wee to the world, which SHOULD do nothing more than raise a chuckle or roll an eye or two… but instead it sparks web-wide conversation, debate, and condemnation.
As a society, we like to pretend out kids dont even HAVE anything between their legs… but Bart wont stand for that nonsense!

    As always… YAY Simpsons!!!!!

Well I just saw the movie, I was completely unaware it was going to happen…That is why it was hillarious! You see I think the whole point of that quirky little blip, no pun intended, was to create a subtle shock laugh. Thankfully I’ve been too busy in my own world to pay much attention to silly things debated online, but all in all I would say the movie was pretty slap stick, in your face, that was rather ironic, Americana Iconoclastic humor that has defined the simpsons all these years….to quote my favorite bart simpson line…”Don’t have a cow man” lol

i thought the simpsons movie was great but short it was very funny

i thought the simpsons movie was great and funny my favourite bit was when Homer and Bart were on that motor cycle trying to save springfield

The Simpsons are not really a cartoon, more of a regular ADULT tv show, theres not too good of things for a kid to see or hear if you watch the show….But they are supposed 2 be inapropriate, that’s what makes them funny and stupid, and that’s all it is, a funny and stupid show that people love, millions of people have seen the Simpsons Movie and the tv show The Simpsons. People enjoy them even if it’s inapropriate, they just don’t care! So don’t critisize the simpsons, cause they’re awsome!!!

Po: i totally agree with you!!! The Simpsons are something to watch and enjoy, not critasize. The Simpsons kick ***!!!! They rule!!!
