So what happens when you complete each of the five puzzles on the Cloverfield viral website EthanHaasWasRight.com? You get a video. But why go through all the work of solving the puzzles when you can just watch the videos on YouTube? That’s what we did. But one reader points out that “upon completion of the fifth puzzle, you can enter your e-mail address and name to (presumably) a mailing list, with the date August 1, 2007 etched in the top of the unit you type your information into.” So if you want to come along for the ride, you might want to start now.

and in the “extended network†box in the upper right corner is 2 words in that cryptic language. The 2 words translated are cthuhlu pthagen wich means “cthuhlu waits/ dreams……
In the books he comunicates with ppl via dreams. Try this on. Maybe he was sending this Ethan Haas character dreams. Ethan starts ranting about the coming of cthuhlu, everyone thinks he’s crazy and then cthuhlu awakens. Thus, Ethan Haas was right. Anyone who has read H.P. Lovecraft knows that he focus’s more on the mental/ emotional status of his characters rather than giving a detailed description of the monster/ beast. So the POV from a camcorder makes absolute perfect sense. I know the myspace thing could have been created by anyone but damn if all signs don’t point towards cthuhlu. Children of the stars, ancient ones? Come on people.

Rainbow, I had noticed the myspace, but I’ve not used it at all because that would be SO easy to fake it’s unreal… same with starting to dismiss the wiki clues as well, because they’re equally fakeable… but thanks for the heads up on it… I’d not actually translated the words yet, you know the background has a passage on it as well… I’ll rip and translate the image in a little if my evening takes a turn for the sour…

What I don’t think I’ve seen mentioned anywhere online is the significance (or the complete lack of significance) of the name, ‘Ethan Haas.’ It was Jason Ritter’s character’s name on “The Class” which also starred Lizzy Caplan (who has been cast in “Cloverfield” and can be seen in the trailer saying, “what is this for?”) who played his love interest on the show.
I doubt it means anything at all, but I did find it to be a bit interesting, even if only entirely coincidental.

Regarding the online stuff you posted: yeah, we’re doing some fun stuff on the web. But, obviously, if the movie doesn’t kick some massive ASS, who gives a rat’s about what’s online? The Movie isnt really called Cloverfeild. Its a fake title. Which means that Ethan Haas acually has somethignn to do with this movie.
I think its a wonderful idea in this day and age of the internet. Directors know that ppl are gnna search youtube and google for ideas after seeing a teaser so why not give them links to cool interactive sites like that to entertain them even more.

I really don’t understand why don’t you see the relation, the movie it’s a remake of a korean one, called “the host” (see the relation, parasite-host), which is a really great movie (go to the magnolia theatres once in a while, and watch foreing flicks, you’ll find a lot of cool ones) and the plot it’s also good, although the monster not so much, budget thing, watch this movie and all it’s gonna make sense. Anyways, I can’t wait to this “cloverfield”, and don’t get me wrong, the remake of the japanese “the ring”, I found it much more frightening than the original.

No crap. Look anywhere in JJ ABRAMS OWN EMAIL TO A TRUSTED REPORTER for the word Cloverfield. Yeah, you don’t find any. I added it. it doesn’t matter what name I used, if you had your head out of that conspiracy theory hole of yours you could actually read the post and use your brain.
And he did give us sites, 1-18-08.com and Slusho.jp. There. Two sites, that actually have something to do with the trailer (Slusho was on a guys t-shirt in the trailer, quite blatantly, it was also a fake drink in Alias - JJ Abrams other past project)
And no, you don’t know if it’s a remake of “The Host”. Why? Because TheParasite website is also a fake, it was made by some dead forum just to get more traffic, and it has links to EthanHaas which - if you may have actually read the posts here - JJ ABRAMS HIMSELF PERSONALLY DISCREDITED ETHAN HAAS as a correlated site.

Wow! Talk about a disapointment! I just check ethanhaaswasright.com and it turns out that is just an online RPG and truly has nothing to do with “Cloverfield”!! :( We’re back at square one!! :( Does anyone have any new info? I am so sad! I really wanted to believe that Ethan Haas was some how connected to “Cloverfield” I think they should be giving us something more about this movie! AWWWWWHHHHHH! I want more!!!
