Cloverfield is becoming the new iPhone of the movie blog world. So please stick with us as I don’t expect the Cloverfield coverage to stop anytime soon.
Has Cloverfield gone viral? It appears that a viral blog has been set up to help draw people to viral website which has Cloverfield undertones. EthanHaasWasWrong.blogspot.com links to a flash website at EthanHassWasRight.com, which contains a puzzle game. Jason Ritter played a character named Ethan Haas in the 2006 television show The Class. What does that have to do with anything? We don’t know.
I’m still unable to confirm that this website is related the Cloverfield, and I have my suspicions otherwise. The posting on the blogspot site were made over the past two days, and seem to suggest a Cloverfield link. The EthanHaasWasRight website is not new. It seems to have been up earlier last month, and was registed long before the 01-18-08.com website.

People have already solved the puzzles. Escape The Room posted the following walkthrough on July 3rd 2007:
1) The first lock will test your memory. Follow the trail of light and sound, but be careful — one wrong move will send you back to the beginning.
2) For the second lock, you may need to look to the stars. They will help you find HAAS who will lead your way.
3) The third lock will require you to extinguish all lights but one. Only with one light remaining will you be able to proceed.
4) The fourth lock will let you move all 4 pieces through the control of one. However, unless the three key pieces are simultaneously placed into position, you will not be granted access.
5) The fifth lock will be the toughest. Seek help again from the stars to reveal your key and the message that you must decode. The two working together will open the way.
We will be sure to update you when we find out more.

According to IMDB, Abrams is directing Star Trek XI, which is supposed to release in Dec. ‘08. And the screenwriters, not surprisingly, are Kurtzman and Orci. It looks like Abrams is in for a big year.

ok so I went to the site and I got past the first two parts of the puzzle,
I dont know how I got past the second part, but I made it as far as
the lights part but I cant figure out how to extinguish the lights, all I
can do is move them around

on http://ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com/ a bunch of the comments also all contain Chthulu in them… which happens to be a H.P. Lovecraft creation..
beyond that I googled some of the characters / symbols and a bunch of them (im assuming all, but I didnt search them all) are Hindu characters…
not sure what the hell it all means..

And On the Flash Puzzle, the rightmost star when you highlight it, a bunch of characters appear, pay attention, that is an A - Z alphabet. There is a tiny A under the first character and a tiny Z under the last.

Coincidence or not? Ethan Haas was the name of the main character on “The Class”. Lizzy Caplan, who was in the Cloverfield trailer and has been confirmed to be in the flick, played opposite him on that show. Seems a bit too coincidental.

Ethan Haas was the fictional character in the sitcom The Class. His love interest Kat Warbled was played by actress Lizzy Caplan, who is attached to act in “Cloverfield.” Coincidence?

radical who’s getting people rowled up just prior to something bad -
whatever happens in “Cloverfield”, probably - happening. … To me. All

“Cthulhu Fhtagn!” is a new browser based “Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game” (MMORPG).

Okaaaayy… I’m completely weirded out.
I was checking all these Cthulhu references and had been to Wikipedia several
times to look at the article about “The Class” as quoted above.

Now… I thought that line seemed awful out of place with the rest of Ethan’s bio…and the premise of the show seemed kind of weird for them to seriously consider Ethan a prophet. I mean it didn’t sound like a fantasy/sci-fi show.
What’s spooky, though? I just went to get a quote from the Wikipedia article and lo- that line about Cthulhu has completely vanished… it now reads:

when i go to ethanhaaswasright i just get a picture of what looks to be a gear with nine little blue dots around the outside on a black background and ‘ethan haas was right’ written under it. am i missing something?

That’s a loading screen for the game. The site has been a little bogged down all morning, just try reloading every now and again. When it actually loads the gear will disappear and you’ll see a giant metal sphere in front of a city.

The movie it’s called INHUMANOIDS. The monster arrived on NYC it’s none other than Metlar. If you watch the Inhumanoids cartoons in the late 80’s you’ll know who metlar is.

It’s like the game Pegged- you hop each light over another light to an empty space, then the light that was hopped over is gone. Much like the rules of checkers. You need to get rid of all but one of the lights to complete the game.

it’s an interesting coincidence that cloverfield and hp lovecraft both have 11 letters and that hp lovecraft can be rearranged somewhat into cloverfield e.g. the clover part comes directly from lovecr, there’s an f in aft, the a when flipped looks like an e, p in hp is an upside down d, H in hp is an I flipped sideways, and the t kinda looks like an L….somewhat of a stretch I suppose
