The Dark Knight star Christian Bale told The Star Ledger that the new Batman film hints at a possible third film.
“The script leaves room for a very interesting follow-up, too,” Bale says of the potential for a third film. “I think we could take it somewhere else.”
But a third Batman film has always been in the plans. In fact, when Christian Bale signed on to star in Batman Begins, the contact had a three-picture option.

Is the Dark Knight a continuation of the other batman movies or is it a new story,cast and director?

It’s completely a new adaptation and view on the Batman character. It’s completely something different than the movies that were made before, except for the context of it being a Batman movie.

Well, it’s obviously a continuation of Batman Begins; but with regard to the other Batman movies, it exists in a separate universe.

yeah, no kidding, there will deff be a third movie, that was a given, same with spiderman, star wars, superman, transformers, there all trilogies. just the 4th part of the movie is something to watch out for
