One of the stories we missed on Friday was that Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf will also be released in IMAX 3D simultaneously with the film’s domestic release in conventional theatres on November 16, 2007. Beowulf will be digitally converted and re-mastered in IMAX 3D using the same technology that was used for Superman Returns and Harry Potter. Considering that much of the film was produced using performance (ie motion) capture, I would assume that most of the elements are already available on the production computers in three dimensions.
