My only two complaints are the ending and the manner in which some of the victims were killed. With the understanding that this movie was made for a mainstream audience and was pulling for an R rating, Zombie still could have been more gruesome with the manner and approach Michael killed his victims and still gotten away with an R rating. Shaking the camera to a loud scary soundtrack don't enhance the horror of a murder for me when the act itself is a simple one hand choke or stab. You got to give me close-ups of fingers pressuring deep into the victim's neck, or different stabbing angles or approach. There are powerful ways of "suggesting" horror witout showing too much like the chainsaw scene in Scarface. The ending blew. I understand if Zombie doesn't plan or want to make a sequel but at least he could have left us "hanging" like the original movie did. You know, everyone takes their eye off of Michael for a second and he pulls a Hoodini on you. Although it wouldn't be hard to bring him back from the dead for a sequel, if this version remains as is, it then suggest that Michael is just human, with a heart no doubt for his sister. Great a killer with a heart. The ending kills the evil that is the Boogie Man and you leave the theatre with the assurance that Michael is dead and he won't creep up on you later on that night as you shower, which sadly defeats the purpose of watching a good horror flick. The movies are good, but something about a man who just wont die freaks me out. After seeing Rob Zombie's version that fear has been laid to rest. My friends and laughed throughout the whole entire movie. He added more blood, guts, nudity, and foul language all the requirements for a horror film, but for some reason it ended up being a comedy. We all thought the movie was going to pick up where "Halloween Resurrection" left off, but instead got a cheesy remake of the very first one. I left the theater wanting my time and money back.
