all i know about this movie is that some one in the trailer while they were running said it was a giant lion

i saw this trailer last night...i hate being kept in suspense like that but the movie looks absolutely amazing. and the fact that they're making it seem as if home video recorders are used is absolutely genius.

When I saw this trailer, I knew there wouldnt be any title, It reminded me of the opening scene I wanted to make for a movie about WWIII, In NYC too!
Anyway, I watched the trailer and at the end, where the title usually is in credits, I believe i saw a name "robot" or something similar to that in the title. Im going to see transformers again, because it was so good, but Ill watch for the trailer again

The use of sound in the clip was extraordinarily good. Or, rather, the use of silence..


Speaking of sound, the Transformers movie had excellent use of sound and music.

It's coming out in January. Its going to suck, even if the trailer pwned.

I saw the trailer last night and was blown away. But now, after reading that its coming out in January I doubt it will be worth seeing.

I thought it was some lame ass movie about some guy.
It turned out to be a monster movie.
I really think its about an alien invasion.

I say its Godzilla, or something close to it. There was a sound in it that sounded much like a roar from godzilla

I think that it had to do with something that can blow things up or create fire.

i saw the trailor n i was thinkin it was godzilla for a second but how would
godzilla make that explosion tho.....im thinkin its a alien invasion or some

I thought the trailer looked lame. Didn't they just remake Godzilla ten years ago?

Putting things together for this movie is kinda tough. First thoughts running through my head? Godzilla. Though that movie was ehh. Then the guy behind me says....it is a giant robot. Of coarse he would say that. Bad Robot flashed on the screen. :/
Then hearing the "Giant Lion" line from seeing the preview again....I was all types of lost. How could it be anything more than a giant lizard/monkey/alien/robot? They have done all of those though. Thinking about the code names "Parasite" for the creature itself? This so called Lion (if heard correctly) could it be the Chimera? I've heard of Chimera parasites before....so I guess it could very well be a lion. Which when I first thought about it, it could be dumb. :/ Then again...a giant Chimera could be pretty amazing in some respects.

That grainy low-quality film style is great for a trailer, but it's gonna get hard on the eyes after 2 hours of watching a film. Kinda like that grain filter they stuck on 300 the whole movie. Bugged the bejesus out of me.

Another thing... I'm so bored with New York getting destroyed. Seeing the head of the statue of liberty rolling down a street didn't get me out of my seat. Hell, New York getting destroyed in any context in a film doesn't get me out of my seat anymore. Maybe they could destroy Chicago or Los Angeles or some other city for once.

It's like blowing up Tokyo. Not interesting.

The movie is with Godzilla but with the camera concept of the Blair Witch.

I just came from seeing TRANSFORMERS and I also saw the (BAD ROBOT prod) TRAILER and me and my crew think its 'WAR OF THE WORLDS 2' because the dudes name was ROBBY, just like the kid in WOTW.

Just In... the trailer is actually based on the Rampage video game. Simply an amazing idea!

See, I'm not so sure that the actual movie is going to be entirely from the hand
held camera point of view. I think the hand held camera approach was done
specifically for this teaser trailer. Most films that are made exclusively with hand held camera footage use it as an artistic method for minimizing certain low
budget risks that are taken in production. Whether that be poor acting
(ala Blair Witch), shoddy set design, or any other technical aspects of the like. Clearly, this film is not lacking on any of these levels, in that it is a major
motion picture from Paramount, and is not independently made. It would be
a very bold move indeed to spend so much money on a film that looks to be a special effects box office smash, only to diminish the quality of it by filming it
entirely on hand held cameras.

I don't know. Until there is some credible source from Paramount or any other publication, that is so far remaining very tight lipped about this project, I
believe it is just a bit premature to start drawing certain assumptions from the
teaser trailer and throwing them around as fact.

Though I would be shocked, I would not be disappointed if the project actually
IS entirely shot with hand held cameras. It does seem a waste and a marketing risk, financially speaking, though I do believe the project is in very good hands with J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot productions. I will assume that they know better than I about such things. I'm hardly ever ready to completely embrace the creative judgments of some filmmakers until I have seen the vision they have tried to achieve, and in most cases (i.e. M. Night Shymalan films) I am very delightfully blindsided. Abrams and crew have done a tremendous job with LOST, and I can't wait to see what comes next from them.

I believe I saw Ryan Key in this movie...maybe he was the bartender at the party? It was definately him. Movie looks good...lets just hope it is!

i personally think its an alien invasion too like war of the worlds. i just looked awesome when me and my boyfriend saw it before transformers. i dont think its godzilla. but whatever it is it better be awesome if i have to wait til january to see what the hell it really is.

Cloverfield " " looks okay. the POV might get annoying and may cause someone one to momentarily blackout with all the shaking but otherwise i cant wait for it to come out in january.

everyone has a good theory going and they all sound exciting and fair. it IS too early assume but i have my own thoughts too...first thing i thought about,is that it WAS a transformers 2 trailer,only for these reasons:
a: the deceptacons were buried at sea. hence the statue of liberty head flying through the city.
b:at the end of transformers,one of the deceptacons escapes into the sky.
c:the still in new york
====the facts remain though:
a:different director
b:too soon for a sequel and even a trailer for one
c:sound effects and explosions were of something like a monster
===its fun to guess what it might be but who knows for sure. im hoping its a giant squid with blood on its teeth and laser eyes!!!

While don't have any new info to supply I would just like to compliment the production company for some very creative advertising. The teaser certainly left everyone in our theater curious... but at the same time the general consensus in the theater was anything released in January is going to be sucktastic. This being the creator of Lost can only mean he's being mysterious for the sake of being mysterious. It's going to backfire.

yep a guy from high school....hes also lead singer in a pretty famous band...when i saw the preview i knew it was him right away. hes the bartender at the party...well the guy with blonde hair standing at the bar....looked like he was serving drinks...you can see him a few times in the trailer
