According to a report in The Daily Mail (ie, we can’t completely trust this information), Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is being paid $50 million for the final two Harry Potter films (Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows). Of course this number is before tax, commission, and agents and manger fees, but who cares - that’s a lot of cash for a young actor. In perspective, Radcliffe made less than $29 million for the first four films combined. So a $25 million pay day per film for the last two films is a huge jump in pay-grade. The actor only made $250,000 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, $3 million for Chamber of Secrets, $11 million for Goblet of Fire, and $14 million for the upcoming Order of the Phoenix.
But interestingly enough, this still doesn’t put Radcliffe on the highest paid actors list. Keanu Reeves was paid an estimated $160 million for The Matrix Reloaded/The Matrix Revolutions due to a deal that gave him 15% of the gross. Bruce Willis also took in over $100 million on The Sixth Sense with the same type of deal.

Didn’t the SHREK guys in the first movie also hit the big money? IIRC, at the time, no one expected much out of it and Myers, Murphy, and Diaz all took very low salaries in exchange for gross points.

One bit, check out the EXTRAS episode in series 2 with Daniel Radcliffe and Dame Diana Rigg in it. Hilarious! I just about died when he accidentally flipped his condom onto Diana Rigg’s head….

This might hold some truth to it. Seeing as it has been rumored several times Emma Watson was thinking of not coming back to do the final 2 movies, or maybe she still is thinking that (I haven’t kept completely up to date on HP Gossip). And with that kind of thinking going around WB will pay big bucks to make sure they keep their cast the same. Studios have seen what happens to movies when they switch actors in the middle of a series.
The question I have is: If this is true or somewhat true, what about Rupert and Emma? Do they receive fairly similar pay raises for the last 2 movies?

In response to The E.No they don’t make as much as Dan.A shame really.Harry Potter would’nt be the same without them. And Dan,Emma and Rupert have in fact signed on for HBP and DH.

I disagree, they do not diserve all that money. Daniel is far too young and in experienced to get 25 million dollars per movie. They are far more talented actors out there that get paid less and have yet to get a star in Hollywood. Don’t get me wrong he is a good guy but I think that the big cash should be left out for the experienced actors. There most be something to look forward to when you get older.
