For someone who was so unsure about returning to direct Spider-Man 4, that doesn’t stop Sam Raimi from talking about the possibilities. The Evil Dead director told MTV that he’s already started brainstorming about possible villains for part 4.
“I would love to see Electro, Vulture, maybe the Sinister Six as a team,” he said.
Let’s just hope that he doesn’t include them all, because the last film was stuffy enough with three bad guys. In May we wrote up a lengthy bit on what villians could be included in the further adventures of Peter Parker. Spider-Man 3 has made over $879 million worldwide so far and climbing.

My vote goes for Spider-Man / Peter Parker fighting and killing the venemous Spider-Man / emo Peter Parker from Spider-Man 3, like the Clark Kent / evil Superman battle in Superman III. That would bring some satisfaction and make me feel the money I spent on Spider-Man 3 wasn’t entirely wasted.

Please, no more. I blame Lee and Janet Batchler for this (writers for Batman Forever). That’s when the whole multi-villain thing became popular in Hollywood. Sure, it made the marketing guys happy, but don’t they realise that for every new character you cram into a movie, you’re losing that much more character development for everyone else?

Logical progression would suggest “The Lizard” and “Carnage.” The problem is you probably wouldn’t want to do both in the same movie. Have part 4 be “The Lizard” and get into that storyline a bit. Then have part 5 (yeah, thinking ahead here) be “Carnage.” I say that because these films seem to like following a general story arc. They at least set up the possibility for this in “Spider Man 3.”
I can’t even imagine the “Vulture” looking good on film. To me, he was a silly character in the comics. (I suppose you could argue the same about Doc Ock, but, you know, still…) “Electro” might not be a bad idea, but “Mysterio” ?? I don’t know. I think you have to at least keep some level of reality working. Even “Sandman” was really stretching it for me. “Hobgoblin” — well, I think we’ve had enough of goblins by now.

In spiderman 3 venom came to late in the movie and died to quickly, so spiderman 4 should be about carnage and lizard, or at least find a way so that venom can come back so that it would be harder for spiderman to defeat both venom and carnage.

It won’t be the Sinister Six because…
1- Dr. Oc. Died. For some of you who think he will come back, look at 2 & 3.
2- Having six villains would make the movie 6 hours, or completely confusing. For those of you who think more villains is better, read 3.
3- Sandman is in the Sinister Six and at the end of S3, Sandman and Spiderman weren’t enemies, so then he wouldn’t fight Spiderman.

I think that if carnage was in spiderman 4 and he was stronger than spiderman or venom, venom should come back and venom and spiderman would have to work together to destroy carnage like in the comics. But since all of the defeats in the past movies , i dont think they should try to have a sinister six.

My suggestions for Spidey 4 with Raimi, McGuire, and Dunst:
1. First of all, it’s finally time for the culmination of personal growth. Make sure that for most, if not all, of the film, Spiderman is good, confident, and respected. No more girl problems or self doubt. Those things were totally important to the story up until now, I agree, but it’s time to move on.
2. The Lizard. It’s time. It’s the perfect time.
3. Have J.J. Jameson advertise a reward for the capture and identity of both Spidey and the Lizard.
4. Enter Kraven the Hunter with a minor role by Calypso to tie together some Lizard and Kraven storylines.
5. Peter Parker marries Mary Jane. Kraven shows up at the reception and exposes and captures Parker (who fights Kraven unmasked in front of everyone).
6. Let some other director bring back Carnage and 20 other characters to ruin the whole series like Batman Forever. That way, I can still enjoy my four Raimi movies on DVD without lack of closure. It’s really stupid to make a movie series so open-ended. End on a high note before it’s Forever stale.

For the fourth film, Lizard and Carnage all the way! If possible, in a film after the fourth, MAYBE even set up the symbiote line consisting of Agony, Phage, Riot, Lasher, Scream, and maybe even Toxin and Hybrid. Also, maybe Sandman could reprise his role in the fourth film, and we can see what happens to his daughter. Oh, and Doppelganger could be interesting…

Joey venom couldn’t have survived because he was vaporized just like the old goblin did to the board members in spiderman 1. you’ll see what I mean when the dvd of spiderman 3 comes out just slow-motion it and you’ll see the bones getting distroyed.
I think that Carnage will totally be in the 4th movie because Dr. Conner had a sample of Venom…… and besides I thought that Carnage came from Venom also if they put in the Lizard and Craven the Hunter it would be a great movie, not Mysterio.

I mean DR. conners has the alien symboite. Also in the comics, spidermans DNA was mixed with the lizard to creat the carnage symboite so it could find Cletus Kassady.

This may seem a little out there, but when you think about it, it is possible. Dr Conners could be working on the serum that makes him the lizard but not actually become the lizard yet. Instead he could test it on the piece of the symbiote he has and since the serum causes regeneration, hence connors use for it for his arm, the serum could make the venom symbiote generate a new one aka carnage. then have what’s left of the venom symbiote find some kind of remains of eddie. We’ve seen the symbiote repair his body before when harry hit him with the bladed pumpkin things. in the end venom could team with spiderman and help defeat carnage. both symbiote could be killed off for good and this would lead to the lizard in a 5th movie.

Sorry, I just want to see Venom again, he is my favorite character in Marvel comics and I think anyone who is not Eddie Brock is not venom when combined with the symbiote. All they have to say is Topher Grace is comming back and I’ll be in the theatres first day it comes out.

People come on, i want Venom back. Actually, i’m an incredible fanboy. But i happen to know that Venom isnt gonna come back! For more than 1 reason.
1) The reason that Venom had so little screentime, looked crappy, etc., was because Sam Raimi didnt like Venom in the first place! He really didnt wanna put Venom in it, but the Venom fanboys pretty much forced him him into it, through the producers, screenwriters, etc., so he killed him off
2) I believe that Venom deserves a full movie as much as the next guy, but theyre not gonna bring him back because he was already in a movie, and they think it’s stupid to put him in two movies.
3) As i already said, he’s dead. He’s not gonna come back, and good old Raimi made sure of that by blasting him to smithereens. So get over it.
So, i think Lizard and Carnage is gonna be in it, ’cause Lizard kinda has to be, and Venom’s a waste if theyr not gonna have Carnage.

directors need to learn… NEVER EVER kill the bad guy.. thats what ruined the orginal batman series. I saw a trailer of spiderman 4 with a guy with orange, bushy, hair! It is carnage! The guy is thomas haden church! The one in spiderman 3 who is sandman! IDK if its wrong, but im sure its right if you watch it! Also, if sandman was helping spiderman.. who would be carnage? I really want carnage and the lizard. I think for the 4th movie lizard and vulture will make a good movie. Peter and MJ get married at the begining. Vulture gets created by a poison at the potions lab and Lizard might be doctor conners working on a lizard antidote. I think spider man should be unmasked on this movie for the whole city and so peter hides and so no more spider man and puts it in the trash. That would be a great movie if you do that and always make it M15+.

With the Lizard and Carnage being the villians here’s I how I can picture things playing out. Spiderman originally puts Cassidy behind bars which gives him a personal hatred from him. Introduce Farley Stillwell since Connors is a physicist in the movie, Stillwell would learn how the symbiote encorporates genes from hosts making the creation of the scorpion possible for a subsequent film.
Cassidy escapes and causes an accident in the lab, and bonds to the other piece of the symbiote that was in Connors custody in part 3. Connors wakes up to find his arm regrown, and since he wanted to have his arm back more than anything else he doesn’t question it. Later on, turning into the Lizard. In the comics spiderman used the lab notes to make an antecdote reversing the mutation. And figure out a way to trap carnage and seperate his symbiote from him.
They should have him using his Intellect more often like in the comics.

Okay, I saw the mask of Grey Goblin. In much of the comics Peter’s girlfriend is Gwen Stacy. I mean Mary Jane will be Peter’s girlfriend in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2.1 and Spider-Man 3, and Gwen will be Peter’s girlfriend in Spider 4 Man, Spider-Man 5 and Spider-Man VI. I think four villians are too many to fit in one film unless Sam is planning to make this one 3 hours or longer. Someone commented that Venom should’ve been the sole focus of the film. Throughout the movie all the things that transpired between Brock and Parker led up to him becoming Venom; the symbiote just passed on the powers of spiderman to him.
I like the fact that Carnage is one of the villians, and ever since they introduced Doc Connors I’ll bet the fans were wondering when and how they’ll make him the Lizard.

Okay, really simple. Really REALLY simple. And typical “Sam Raimi”. Peter is helping Connors out at the lab one night, studying the alien symbiote, considering whether to keep it or destroy it. Peter leaves, agreeing to talk about it later. Connors decides, “Hey, I’m going to try this new reptillian formula out!” (It was around somewhere in his lab). POOF! Arm grows back. BUT… He goes into tremors, starts screaming and thrashing around. During this violent transformation process into the Lizard, he knocks over the container with the symbiote in it, which shatters, allowing the symbiote to escape. Now you’ve got Lizard, and the symbiote on the loose. Scene change. Peter and MJ getting married at a chapel near ESU. Scene change. At the wedding reception, Kraven shows up, outs Peter as Spidey. They fight. Peter’s cut up. His blood drips between the floorboards, down into the dark cellar/basement/storeroom (Whatever) which just happens to be where the symbiote is ‘hiding’. Being a new material, the symbiote ‘bonds’ with the blood, turning… Crimson! Now you got a crimson symbiote, meanwhile, Pete defeats Kraven, and somehow has to deal with the ramifications of being outed. ((Btw, instead of relationship problems, the being outed part would make for the drama of Part 4’s story, and much more interesting for fans of current continuity, i.e., Civil War press confrence.)) Anywho, I’m sure Sam could find a MUCH better writer than me to figure out what happens between Connors and Peter and Carnage (Hell, you don’t even need another actor. Make a pure CGI Carnage, who exists only because of the blood. OH! Since movies are an alternate reality, make it so that because of Pete’s blood, the symbiote is now hungry for blood, hence the extremely violent tendencies of ‘Carnage’. AND why he’s going to be after Peter for MORE blood. Hey, it’s plausible. *Shrugs* Anyways, that’s what I’ve got. Actually wrote a fan fiction, 160 pages long, just after 3 was released in theatres, since I didn’t really think they’d seriously do a four. This was the main plot of it, and it worked for most of the people who’ve read it. I’m sure there’s people who’ve also thought it was stupid as well. Then again, you really can’t make Spidey-4 worse than 3. It’s all sunshine and rainbows from here on out!

Oh yeah, for those of you concerned about Character Development, this idea works out really great because, you really don’t need to develope anyone, except maybe Connors a little more. No actor needed for Carnage, Kraven takes like 2 minutes. (*Cut scene: Kraven the Hunter, on TV in JJJ’s office, doing a commercial for his ‘Survivalist’ TV Series in Austrailia. Kraven’s the worlds most famous Hunter. JJJ has one of his typical ‘epiphanies’ and gets Robbie to hire him to find and unmask Spidey.*) WOW! Kraven character developement done. Which would mean…??? We’d have close to two hours of movie that would make sense, be exciting and fun, and wouldn’t leave any unanswered questions. Oh, and if Raimi could PLEASE have one of the villians set up Gwen Stacy’s death, that would be GREAT!!! (She died in the comics. It was one of the MOST defining moments of Peter Parker’s life. How can you really call him Spider-Man if he hasn’t gone through that moment? I mean, REALLY???)

3after dealing with carnage spidey has a choiche he can kill venom(because hes wery weak cuz he got ingured in the fight ) or let him live spidey says “who am i to judge anyone eawen if i hawe a great power, with great power comes great responsibility!!!” venom stands up they watch into each other eyes and swing away to oposite directions *snif* i just love happy ending when venom doesnt go BOOM lol

i want there 2 be 6 movies coz they’re all so gr8…. but u want the finale 2 go out with a bang and he’s killed all the good villains off already… bar just a few. there’s all this talk of doc ock coming back, but remeber he turned 2 the good side b4 he died. i LOVE the idea of a venom/carnage showdown but i think save that 4 a l8r daymaybe sm5 or 6. i think in sm4 the main villain should be electro. they shud make up a storyline where he’s a friend of the sandman and he turns in2 electro somewow n tries 2 kill spidey bcoz he thinks spidey killed flint marco. then mysterio shud come in2 it and he and electro shud form an alliance - @ the end mysterio shud take over the staute of liberty just like in the Spider man 2 game. then in the final showdown sandman comes back and reveals the truth 2 electro and they both die dsaving the town from a disaster electro caused while spidey flees the scene of the final fight. u just know the lizard’s gonna b in it though, i don’t mind that. black cat shud be in it 2 n she n spidey can form like a superhero duo n go around the town fighting crime 2geva. shocker shud be in sm5

i don’t think vulture shud b in it @ all bcoz he’s too old and i don’t think he’d b much of a hit. nobody’s mentioned hammerhead that could bring more of a mafia style fling 2 it and he could have other supervillain cronies like shocker or scorpion (it’s just an idea) maybe rhino although not many people have suppotred the idea of him hitting the big screeen. oh - Jameson could create the scorpion 2 try and kill spider man, but then it all goes wrong and scorpion jojns forces with another supervillain (i’m goigng2 keep hinting shocker 4 spider man 5) and then spider man has 2 save him, only 4 JJ 2 print a newspaper exploting him as being in alliance with the supervillains who attacked him!!!
by the way -one way or another, venom HAS 2 come back, he didn’t have a big enough role in sm3 and he wasn’t like the old venom frm the comics or the ps1 game or the animated series. he needs a bigger role and he should join forces with carnage in sm6 maybe only 4 venom 2 join forcs with spidey and they both die - pretty much wat evry1 else has been saying. electro, mysterio and lizard 2 be the sm4 villains PLEASE!!!

i dont c how he can have the sinister six - unless he made like 2 spin-off movies called the sinister six (he wud have 2 make it in2 2 movies otherwise it’d b 2 long.) but in that case, he needs 2 somehow magically bring doc ock back, and he’d have 2 make sandman evil again. also, in sm3, spidey nearly died facing sandman n venom by himself, until harry turned up and threw that bomb in sandman’s head. there’s no way he could face 6 villains alone. obviously they could bring in black cat, but they’d still need more. they’s have 2 do something crazy like bring harry back from the dead.

Movie, and comic logic. Unless you acctually see them die, they can not be clasified as dead. we say the goblin die in the first one we saw the new goblin die in the third one, we saw venom get real big and we saw brock get vaporized but the simbiont could still be alive. Also we only saw doc ock floating off never actually dead. besides directors and wrighters should realize in todays movies expecally comicbook movies it is bad form to kill off the bad guy. because if a person is popular, the more money is to be made off them, the longer that char is kept alive. they should have learned form the orginal Joker form batman. So popullar but then couldn’t do anything with him because he was dead..

You guys are right about killing off villains. It seems that they always do it in these big movies: Joker, Penguin, Bullseye, Ras al Ghul, Goblin, Doc Oc and Venom. You can’t have a superhero comic last long if you kill all the interesting villains. In Batman they invented Arkham Asylum for that - a place to keep them. I don’t think Marvel has something like it.
I think Kraven the Hunter would be righteous! With Lizard.

Actually, Dale, an interesting thing about Marvel… They’ve had tons of places like Arkham Asylum for many many years. Let’s see, for low level mugs in or around NY, the NY police, with the help of Tony Stark and the Avengers in general, are able to upgrade certain cells on Ryker’s Island (You know, the real prison from NY) to house low power level villanry. If that’s not enough, then you have the Raft, S.H.I.E.L.D. owned and operated prison also off the coast of New York, which houses medium to moderate powered super villains. It’s also housed a few heroes in it’s time. Well, that place is pretty decent (Ecept for the Spider-Man/Avengers “Breakout” event, of course.) If that’s not good enough, there’s always The Vault, buried deep underground in Colorado. Over the years, it’s held such notables as Erik Magnus Lenshner, a.k.a., Magneto, Victor Von Doom, a.k.a., Doctor Doom, Cletus Cassidy, a.k.a, Carnage, among many many others. Hell, the Maximum Carnage series occured only because Cassidy broke out from the vault when an ingenious - albeit insane - idea popped into his head; Bite his own tongue to start bleeding, so that the symbiote could be released! Well, there’s many many other places all over the Mighty Marvel World suited to house villains. If you want to talk logistics of killing off villains in movies, however, one thing you need to remember is, it’s Hollywood. Marvel has gone way beyond DC in one aspect of telling their stories online, in cartoons, and in movies: They’ve explained why they’re different. (DC’s never done that) Marvel’s even got a yearly handbook to help with understanding it. The Marvel Handbook of Alternate Universes. In the current continuity comics, the Earth there is designated as Earth 616. It’s the supposed ‘baseline’ universe. The Ultimate Universe is set in an alternate, parrallel universe where everything that’s happened, i.e., radioactive spider-bite, bombardment of cosmic rays while on a test shuttle trip, etc, happened more currently than the sixties, since the Ultimate Universe Earth apparently rotates a bit further from the sun. The cartoons are all various alternate universes, and the same goes for the movies. They may be very very similar to the comics, but when it comes right down to it, they’re not exact copies. As far as flat out killing characters, well, marvel hasn’t really killed off anyone in the spider-man series. Norman Osborn is alive and kicking in the comics… but guess what? He died, exactly the same way he died int he first movie. The Super Soldier program he was working on with Stromm, the chemical, gave him the ability to slowly regenerate his tissue over time. Hence, he could come back at any time in the movies for the same reason. Doc Ock? He floated away. Who’s to say his arms didn’t pick him up and carry him out of the water? That would be logical, considering they were pretty damn near sentient in the movie. And Venom. Well, let’s see. Comics, Eddie Brock isn’t venom anymore. There’s a new venom in town. Because? The Venom Symbiote rejected Brock when it realized he had cancer. Yup, that’s right, full fledged, terminal, inoperable cancel. Brocks as good as dead. (Think he may have died already, will have to catch up on latter ‘07 backissues). But meh, the point is, none of these badguys really died in the movies. The venom symbiote only needs a very small part of itself to reproduce. It feeds off of adrenaline. That’s why the first person it latched onto was parker, cause his adrenaline level was off the charts. Take that food source away after giving it a teeny taste, and of course it’s gonna be pissed and want revenge - as well as it’s snack back! Connors has the sample from it currently, which means in theory, they could make a new venom - even if it’s not Brock. Anyways, I’m wasted tired, and probably got a few things slightly off, so I’m gonna go crash. Have fun everyone, and until the Earth’s orbit moves away from the Sun and the world freezes to death in the blackness of space, Make Mine Marvel!

The ending of spider-man really left it open for venom to return, as he was almost totally engulfed in the symbiot when the explosion happend therefore he could quite easily have dissapeared quickley.
Venom is too good a villian to kill off that quickley, and he was not in the movie for long therefore dissapointing a lot of fans

The sinister six would be good, but Spidey couldn’t take them all down by himself. He would need some sort of help. With Harry dead, and Venom destroyed. He doesn’t have much place left to turn to. The writers would have to come up with some ingenuous plan to bring back some of the characters, or ad some new heroes to give our friendly neighborhood Spiderman some help.
Personally I would love to see the Rhino in the next film. Hopefully he wont be ruined like the Juggernaut in X-men 3, and the costume looks like it’s supposed to.

Really i think sm4 should have carnage,lizard and hob goblin since hob is the only one from the goblins left and can steal the green goblin technology.Carnage could be the piece given to dr connors and turned red from an experiment dropped onto the symbiote from connors turning into the lizard and going crazy.spidey should have sandman on his side and perhaps harry being saved by the goblin syrum.

i was just reading something about the hob goblin and then i saw something about the demo goblin so from what it said perhaps they could do what it said to the goblin on the 4th.It was saying later the hob begs for more power and the demo gob whos a demon kinda goblin goes onto the hob with its power.so maybe they could do that half way through the 4th movie.

Ok, this is the idea, SM4 starts with the wedding don’t give that more than 4 minutes pleeease (forget about SANDMAN) venom makes a small appearence in the wedding disguised or something like that, from the top of some building, then you see a small scene showing Connor’s experimets with lizards (wait here comes the best part) the guy who provides the reptiles for Connors is Kraven who moves to New York and finds one of the Goblin’s unfinished formulas wich he takes to Connor who adds something Kraven kicks his butt stealing it turning himself in The Hunter and putting (while he escapes) Dr. C. on a lizard experiment chamber letting the piece of symbiote escape bum bang big fight and prelude for SM5 with Carnage and Venom

i think they will bring venom back becuse in the comics there was a power that him could turn invisable so when eddie jumped in the suit it got strong again and he turned invisable and survives

symbiotes can turn invisable but u saw venom was holding the bomb there’s no way he survived.for the hob goblin it wouldn’t really make out really good with norman as him.Like the blades were really big and sharp from the glider and the syrum wouldn’t be able to help norman from something like that.the real guy for hob is jason but hob has to be in a movie even mysterio and shocker.
