I just purchased the DVD of this movie and even if they did change the story a bit, it seems a bit predictable I found it entertaining and for a child's story ok. I happen to be a "friend" of Christopher Eccleston (I hate the word "fan") and he, as well as all the other actors did a great job. Ok so it wasn't a big box office hit but who cares. The Dark Rider can come and scare some people I'd love to scare anytime! I think Mr. Eccleston is kind of sexy in all that leather. Anyway, I did enjoy the entire movie and now, I'm wondering if there'll be a sequel (they didn't exactly get rid of the Dark Rider, did they?)

This movie is NOT an attempt at a faithful adaptation of "TDIR" like "Lord Of The Rings" or "Lion, Witch, Wardrode"!!! It is one very loosely based upon that novel. So if you see it, do NOT expect any resemblance at all, if in fact you have read the book. The changes rendered to the novel make the film adaptation practicallly unrecognizable. In fact, if it were not for the name "Will Stanton" i would NEVER have recognized the trailer as an adaptation, and i've read the book a dozen times!! Upon hearing the name "Will Stanton" in the theater before the Harry Potter movie I could not believe my ears, for this book, and series, had been very important to me growing up. Then, sadly, I couldn't believe my eyes, as the trailer proved to be a sham of a mockery of anything decent. Had NOONE involved read the book at all? There was a South Park episode where a commentator follows Stan around and turns his life into a stupid movie trailer. This "The Seeker" trailer was just like that episode, only pathetically it was real. "Will Stanton thought he was an ordinary boy. But he's gonnna find, being the Seeker, isn't what he thought!" DUUUUUUUUHH.

This is gonna be AWESOME! ACTION, FANTASY, ADVENTURE, what else can you ask for? Here's a link of what went on behind the scenes. Do these young filmmakers have what it takes? Check this link out there comparing it to "real world"

To Dylan: That not exactly fair....as true as it might be. LoTR encompassed
alot of material, so looking at books and movies in this genre at the
surface, yes everything is pretty much like LoTR. So your right to a point.
You kinda have to dig for differences, it also depends on the actors portrails
of the characers.
