I never said it was not acting. I said it was not "JUST" acting. Writing may be difficult for you but I have known many people in my life who turn any situation into comedy on the spot. In high school or college, there is always the class clown or the guy at the party who is making people laugh. They don't sit at home and try to think up a skit, they just do what comes naturally. I know there is a huge difference here but the point is that it takes a certain personality and you either have it or you don't. IF you are a great writer and have the worlds best performance then you are still just a writer. In order to be a comedian you must be able to deliver the performance.

actually, WRITING is everything - if you can't write jokes, then you really don't need to worry about delivery, except in cases where... you steal.

the hardest thing to do in comedy is to come up with something completely original - a funny 'take' on something that no one else has thought of... believe me, writing is HARD. watching or listening to bill cosby or Louie C.K. and mimicking a joke they wrote is a LOT easier.

and it is acting, if you don't write it. what do actors do? take what other's have written, and deliver lines.

i don't know if you've ever done standup, ferus, but i have. and you don't steal jokes. it is the absolute worst thing you can do as a comic.

it doesn't have to be word-for-word. any fair-minded person knows those jokes were stolen; so i'm not going to even get into that.

Better delivery is not "just acting," delivery is everything. You can have the funniest joke in the world but if your timing is off or you emphasize the wrong word no one will laugh. He used material that does sound very similar, but it was not word for word. I have had conversations with my friends that came out like sketch on naming your kid. It is not that rare of a concept.

This poster is sick. The stars look really sexy. The John and Yoko 'Stones cover is a classic and this is a hilarious take on it. Can't wait to see the movie and laugh my ass off.

that's nice of Louie, but the fact is, the jokes were stolen.

it doesn't matter that you find cook's delivery better - he stole the jokes. i personally don't think simply screaming the punchline makes it a better delivery.

the number one rule and comedy (and the ONLY rule) is, DON'T STEAL MATERIAL.

if you take someone else's material, and 'deliver' it better, you're nothing more than an actor.

"In an interview on the Free Beer & Hot Wings Morning Show in February 2007, C.K. stated that while the jokes are similar, the issue was "overblown" and may stem from a backlash against Cook's popularity." I listened tot he clip, I still find Cook funnier. I personally think he has better delivery.

dane cook steals material - worst thing a comic can do:

http://www.redban.com/audio/danesteals.mp3

and neither of these bodies is that of jessica alba or dane cook. in fact, this is two separate photos of their heads photoshopped onto 2 model's bodies. they weren't even in the same studio when the photos were taken, as the light sources on their faces are coming from opposite directions.

very amateur photoshop work.

This is a very creative poster in my opinion. From the looks of the trailer, it looks like it will be a really funny movie. I love Dane Cook (and looking at Jessica Alba), so I will keep my eye out for this.
