Our friends at ScreenRant have posted an in depth look at the differences between the Batman suits from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. One of my huge problems with the older costume, was the large bulging neck/shoulder area in the cowl. It’s hard to tell from the angle of the new photo, but it looks like that is one of the many things that has been fixed/changed.

It’s starting to look more like the real Batsuit, and it does look much more flexible than the last one, but I wish it didn’t look so Aztec-Tron.

I dunno, I sorta liked how the batsuit in begins had that animalistic quality to it. The more human he looks, the less scary (to me at least), and that seems to take away from his ability to fight crime. If fear is such a big part, why would he try to make himself look more like a man with a cape instead of a living gargoyle?

I like the new Batsuit, it looks good with the new armor or w/e, but then again it kinda looks too Ironman-ish or robotic, but I actually like it, its different.
2 complaints: The capes too short and I just dont think the cowl would look right not attatched to his shoulders because thats the way we’ve always known Batman. It wouuldnt look as intimidating IMO like Nick said. It takes away that animalistic quality especially when looking at the back of it. Idunno though, becuase u cant really see the cowl neck because its so dark, I’ll just have to see more later pics and see it in action.

I liked the look of the BB suit as it echoed his ninja trainingw/Ras al-Ghul, he really just spray painted the suit black. As the suit has always had numerous changes how about being open to some new(old) looks? How ’bout those real shot bat-ears on the cowl?? How about a yellow backing on the chest emblem? How about less George Clooney/mecha look?

Braz: you can’t see the end of the cape in that picture. It’s hanging off the side of the cop car he’s standing on. So your complaint is really unfounded.

El: Thats not the full picture of it, Ive seen others that show the whole cape and the full pic and its significantly smaller, and less wide which I liked.

One of the first things that stood out to me while looking at it is how more more “knight” like it is. It very much looks like armor. In response to Al’s comment, I think it would go against the Character of this Batman for there to be color on the suit. His goal isn’t to be flashy, but to be undetectable. He’s a ninja, he has to wear black. I love the gauntlets. A huge improvement compared to the last ones. Over all, pretty dang excellent, if you ask me.

I like the color and the cowl, but overall, it looks like he has it on inside out. It’s too busy but I think it’d look much better if the knees did,’t look so much like inside-out kneepads.

I like the torso but the legs look weird. there is too much goin on, it looks better just the see the defined muscles.

Both of those are completely alien. Batman doesnt look ANYTHING like that. At least w/Tim Burton they had his costume about 90% correct. It just gets further and further. LOL

you guys complain too much stop being so critical about the suit. im sure by now the people of gotham know that there is no beast roaming around town whooping criminals asses.. “it does not look animalistic or like a gargoyle” so what.. im sure they know its some sort of man behind the mask..hell hes got the tumbler and that new bike.. everybody knows animals drive..

Wow, all these negative comments. Look, not a single suit in the history of Batman has looked like the comic. In the comic he’s just a buff guy in spandex. Tim Burton was about mood, that’s it, so the costume worked. Nolan is about realism, and Batman would need armor and the ability to move around freely if he was to survive in the real world. Sure I’m used to seeing him moving his whole body just to look left but it’s completely unrealistic. I won’t judge this costume fully until the film comes out but I’d guess that it’s hard to make a cowl that gives you full move ability so this helmet thing seems to be the best bet. Everyone is afraid of change, sometimes we should open our eyes to best see if the change is for good or bad.

I’m actually excited about the prospect of the stories that can potentially be developed around the new batsuit modifications. For instance, with the exception of Adam West, all iterations of Batman possessed extraordinary gymnastic abilities. For example, the ability to jump from one rooftop to the next or execute a 10ft vertical leap into the air without assistance from his grappling devices.
I would love to see these physically enhancing features included in the back story for the suit upgrade. I can imagine Luscious Fox unveiling the suit’s new properties then admitting there are limitations, but that Bruce will still have a physical advantage over his human opponents. I might also be cool to learn if the suit provides basic life support mechanisms in the event Bruce is severely overtaken.
Another thought is to consider the technology of the Batman Beyond suit. These modifications could be presented as a foreshadowing of what is to come for the Batman. Plus, this could also provide a more logical reason why Bruce is somewhat at peace recruiting a young boy as a side kick. Maybe the Robin suite is based on the same architecture and gives this youth the enhanced strength and agility that allows him to take down a grown man in physical combat.
Just my thoughts…
We’ll find out this summer!

Al, the purpose of the yellow emblem on his chest was to be a target before the days when he could make the cowl bullet resistent. (”Why do you think I wear a target on my chest?” - Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns) You might notice that first appearances of Batman don’t have this until he started facing gunfire. Once comics technology got caught up, Batman abandoned the target on his chest and went with the black bat.
Braz, his cape has never been attached to his shoulders in the comics. It always circles around his neck so he can completely envelope himself in it. Most of the time when you see him in the comics he’s just a head on top of a sleek cape, silhouetted in darkness.
Here’s what I would like to see. The dark grey suit with black accents, like in the comics. I saw one of the costume screen test shots from the first movie where he had black accents on a grey suit, and even the white opaque lenses over his eyes. THAT’S Batman.

Jay, Batman may fight dirty, but it’s been blatently stated in the comics that his physical abilities are the result of training his body to be a living weapon. Of course he has a physical advantage over many of his opponents. He has worked hard to be in the best physical condition and to be the best in every field. Technological enhancements would just ruin who Batman is. Also, Chris Nolan said he will never have a Robin in this franchise.

Here’s an idea… Perhaps the new suit is some form of protection for when he’s riding his motorcycle. Take a good look at the photograph, it resembles the protective suits that some motorcycle racers wear.

I like the new batsuit. In the real world Batman is goin to get shot, electrcuted, and etc…..he goin to need some armor. This new BB is pretty good. Now i know its seems to miltary but half the weapons he uses is miltiary stuff so why not upgrade the batsuit. ASk this… is the spandex costume goin to protect him at all? No.
So i like this one…thought the armor shoud be a little darker..and this new BB gives Batman more movement to whoop some a$%.

i like it… it lives up to the name of dark knight bc it looks like armer. the head looks kind of weird and i dont like how its not all black, the thing i dont get is at the end of the begins its starts talkin about the joker. now he had just assembled his costume why would he get a new one so soon?

I like the new bat suit. It’s more like realistic armor. Instead of just a one-piece suit that looks like some lame superhero, its cool for him to have black armor like a Navy SEAL or something. It makes him look less like a typical superhero and more like a skilled, strong man who’s fighting crime without and lame super powers.

If Batman has armour and bullets can’t get him, all he needs is walk towards the gunner calmly, but that would be superman. If upgrading his suit to armour is good, why not give him the ironman suit next round, then he can just stand still and fire at his gunners exactly like iron man, using radar detector and kill all his enemies in less than a second, but that would be an ironman movie.

I love the batsuit from the comics, and i was hoping to see it in this new movie but, it just cant happen. Lets face it fans the, underwear, the spandex, it just doesnt work in real life. All i care for is a DAMN good movie because Batman Begins was good but not DAMN good.

I Don’t Like The Dark Knight Costume As Much As The Batman Begins Version Mainly Because It Looks Like Dirt Bike Protection Pads, If They Mixed The Batman Begins Leather w/ A FEW Of The Extra Plates Of Armor On The Legs And Arms w/ The New Forearm Pads The Gauntlets And The New Head Is Cool So He Can Have Range Of Motion In His Turning & Just Put A Huge Muscular Guy Like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson As Batman, Or Bill Goldberg Or Dave Batista, Some Huge Guy, And Use Some Under Armour Logos On There Somewhere LoL, Under Armour Is The Future Of Performance Apparel So In The Next One I Would Like To See Like A Black Under Armour Sign On The Chest Of The Black Batman Begins Suit w/ A Few Of The New Stuff From Dark Knight, The Movie Was Awesome By The Way !!!
