I agree, wholeheartedly, and New Zealanders are not the only fans who were unable to see it during its original run. I live in the States, and could not get it. That is why it got poor ratings. If Fox or one of the other major networks had shown it, it would still be on! I bought the DVDs, and had it not been for that, I would never have been able to appreciate it. I am looking forward to more Trek…

Cannot understand all the dislike of ENT among trek fans. I bought the full DVD set because here in New Zealand it was also on a obscure channel that only 1/3 of the population could receive. ENT contains a lot of cleverly woven-in back-story and the characters are nowhere near as poorly cast as VOY (the only ST series where I have NOT bothered to buy the DVDs) OK, so some of ENT’s plots are a bit thin, but they still hang together well. Besides, what series doesn’t have the occasional poor plot line. BTW, Jolene Blalock is one hot babe!!!

I love the idea. The only reason Enterprise failed is because of the obscurity of the network. I never even got to see the show until I could purchase the DVD box sets. I loved the show, and thought the tie-ins with TOS were great. The cinematography and widescreen formats were fresh. The unexplored history of star fleet and the Federation was a great idea. UPN as the carrier was not… I am looking forward to more Star Trek. The backstories are, for now, the way to go.

For what its worth - I’ve grown up watch TOS and its of course, way beyond anything that any television program has ever been or ever shall be… one of my favorite things about this whole endeavor to do Star Trek 11 is the look and feel of the original series… lets face it - that’s where the magic began. All other series that followed always fell short or were missing certain key elements…
they MUST keep the LOOK the SAME and the MUST keep the chemistry the same - the only risk is that in a 2 hour movie - no one can cram all that good stuff that all 79 episodes offered…
all we can do is hope.

Enterprise wasn’t a bad series. I quite enjoyed it. Second, this isn’t just a prequel thats being made, its supposed to be a reimagining of the series. Think Battle Star Galactica, but a lot less extreme. I for one can’t wait to see how it turns out!

This is going to be a disaster like Enterprise was. Star Trek fans aren’t interested in these prequals, didn’t they learn anything from Enterprise’s failure?? One of the reasons we love Trek is the cast, what a horrible letdown!

I’d personally like to see some unknowns filling the shoes of Shatner and Nimoy - i really dont think having somebody well known will have that ‘Star Trek feel’…
