Paul Thomas Anderson is one of the best directors of this generation. His filmography includes Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Punch Drunk Love. His adaptation of Upton Sinclair’s novel Oil comes five years after his last big screen effort. The Will Be Blood is the story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century Texas prospector (Daniel Day-Lewis) in the early days of the business.  I’m not sure what to think right now. It doesn’t show enough for me to really form an opinion. But I have faith - PT is a genius, and Day-Lewis is one of the best actors alive today.
