Michael BayIn an interview with IGN, Transformers director Michael Bay revealed one of his ideas for Transformers that was too expensive for the big screen:

“I had an amazing aircraft-carrier idea that was just too expensive, so maybe another movie… that’ll get the fans talking!”

A transforming aircraft carrier transformer? Can you imagine how huge that giant robot would have been? Let’s hope they make a sequel so we can see it happen.

Now, that I would pay to see.

But I will probably see the first Transformers anyways, despite seeing the trailers that make the movie look like a fourth in the Fast and Furious set of movies.

That’s pretty cool. If it WAS in the movie, that would make it more anticipating for me. I bet it would be a Decipticon. Why Not? Theres more Decipticons in this movie than Autobots anyway. Theres only 5 Autobots. That would be sweet, and I’m hoping for it to be a main Decipticon in the sequel. (It’s name will be Aircarrier).

Hopeful Autobots for 2: Jetfire, Whirl and Scattershot
Hopeful Decipticons for 2: Aircarrier, Wideload, and (if Starscream dies) Skywarp.

The quote only references an “aircraft carrier idea.” The idea might have been for a transformer, or it could have just been a fight scene or something else. The quote is too ambiguous to know exactly what he meant.

true. but he also says the idea was too expensive, which i
think is the hint that it would have been a transformer. but yes
    it is a little ambiguous.

but then again what else could it have been?

But it would be pretty sweet.

Like I said, it very well might have been a transformer. I remember several transformer bases and transports from the toys and cartoons when I was young. My point is simply that this is another example I have seen on /Film where the columnists jump to conclusions to make a story. The idea could have been a huge fight scene at sea. The aircraft carrier would be a good place for an Ariel battle (Starscream vs F-14) on an epic scale like pearl harbor (the event, not the film). It seems to me that either one would be a little expensive to produce, and very expensive in extending the production time, extending the release date, etc….

You guys may not have seen the Transformers series Armada and Energon but they have an aircraft carrier called Tidalwave.

I realize that. But Michael Bay may not have seen it either. The quote never says what his idea was so there is no way to know from THIS article.

I saw Consept Art picture of an aircraft carrier transforming out of the water!
